I love the nice warm weather we are having but it means the need for new sandals. Which means the need to break in new shoes. This is always the pits. Just how much walking can you do before your feet start to rub wrong? What can you do?
Poor hubby took brand new shoes to NYC with him. He has HUGE blisters on the back of his feet from them. Poor guy! I got new sandals. I wore them yesterday for a walk around half my neighbourhood and was fine. But today I walked the other part of the neighbourhood nad now have a raw spot.
Hmmm, a great invention would be shoes that are already broken in. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? No more blisters! People would flock to the shoe stores! “Hello, mate! Could I have some of those new shoes that are already broken in, please?” They’d sell by the crate load!
It is just wrong you have to suffer through the misery of buying the dang shoes to then have to suffer through the misery of breaking said shoes in. Now I know why I never get new shoes…

I can empathize…
… and I were out one night a few weeks ago shopping, we went to Easton, and I found this ADORABLE pair of sneakers on markdown from almost $40. They were $24 or something, and I went ahead and tried them on. HEAVEN. So, I bought them. I brought them home, WORE THEM ONE TIME TO WORK, and had such bad blisters on my right heel, and a bit of a raw spot on my left…oh man. I’ve not been able to wear them since. The blisters are finally gone, the raw spot’s finally gone (and I’ve had these shoes for almost a month, mind you), but I’m a bit leery about putting them back on just yet. I guess it all depends on the shoe and how sensitive your feet are.

Eeek! You poor thing! That’s what happened to hubby! He got new shoes the same day I did. But I’m wearing them for shorter periods of time to try to break them in slowly. He took his to New York two days after we got them. All that walking… eeek He has huge sores on both his heels! Poor guy! It sucks!
Hope you can break in your shoes!

Ouch!! Hope all goes well with the new shoes, man.
Thanx…I’m sitting here, and every once in awhile, I just glance over and glare at them, with this really mean look, like, “You!!! GRRRRR” LOL
Eventually, I’ll get around to trying them out again. I may just put bandaids on my heels when I do, to spare myself the blisters again. LOL

*GLARE GLARE GLARE* There did that help any? Dang shoes!
Hopefully next time it won’t be so bad. Try not to wear them as long. Only thing I can think of. That’s what I’m trying with my shoes. Wear them for shorter periods of time and hope that that means I won’t get as bad a blisters. I do have a small one on my left foot. EEEK.
Trying to decide if I go for a walk today, which shoes to wear. Chance aggravating the small blister or go for safety? Hmmm

Re: I can empathize…
See I would have worn them only a couple of hours. My goal with my sandals is to walk my neighbourhood once with them on. Each day. Of course I think I might wait till this small blister goes away. It isn’t too bad, but why make things worse?
Why oh why did my old very comfy sandals have to get a hole? *sigh* They were awesome sandals. C’est la vie!

Yeah, I hear ya. Usually, I have a blister, it goes away, becomes a callous. Not this time. ~grumble~ It’ll work out. LOL

😦 Sorry it won’t make a nice callous for you. Mean blister!
I went for my walk. Wore my gold sandals. They aren’t really good for walking. They are good sandals but if you are going to be on your feet for extended periods you don’t wanna wear them. But my neighbourhood is small so it isn’t so bad walking in them.
Checked status of blister. Think it will be OK to wear new sandals in a day or two.

Ugh blisters suck! Thankfully I got mine just as it was starting so I didn’t aggravate it much. It will be fast. 🙂 Whew! Told you my neighbourhood is little! hehe

I love my little community. It is very small but that means it is fairly quiet. And I love that we are closed off. The only thing our roads lead to is houses. There are something like 150 houses in my neighbourhood. Which actually sounds like more than it feels like!
Our neighbourhood is getting louder though as spring creeps in on us. More and more people are outside. And all the kids have escaped the confines of the house. I forgot just how many kids were back here!
Yes I was glad I saw my blister in time. Poor hubby saw he was getting one but had no other shoes so he was out of luck. He just dreaded it because he knew it would get worse and worse and worse! That’s NEVER fun!

ouch
hope the blisters go away asap. I’m tellin’ you, neosporin.
Your neighbourhood is very nice. 🙂 I rather like where I live, too, but that’s partially b/c it’s so close to work.
Spring is prolly the loudest season there is. I’ve always thought of it that way, b/c people are coming out of “hibernation” so to speak. LOL
