I’m going to break this up into several entries as there was so very much and I want to share it all with you. But I don’t want you guys to have to read forever. So I’ll break it up over a couple of days.
My friend, Stephanie, and I have been friends since 6th grade at Montfort Academy in Virginia. Yes, we went to Catholic school. But we had fun on historical Marye’s Heights. (Gosh I hope I spelled that right!)
Well, we found out about a sci-fi convention here in town over Memorial Day weekend so she took a week vacay and came to visit. She arrived on Wed. We just kind of hung out Wed. We did go out for our usual Sushi meal which turned into a big deal at the sushi bar/japanese steakhouse with my hubby. But it was yummy so who can complain?
Thursday we went to the Ohio Historical museum and the like. Stephanie actually got us in for free since she works for the Virginia Historical Society so that was pretty cool. Joram enjoyed it.
Thursday night was Book Club. One girl didn’t read the book. She got annoyed with the magic in it. However another girl and I talked about how it was interesting it had a happy ending but we liked the way it was done. It was great. I highly recommend the book, The Black Swan, by Mercedes Lackey. I loved it!
OK… now finally… here’s the beginning of the con story! 🙂
Marcon… it was great. There was so much I wanted to go to! I loved it though. This was the first year that I went to a convention and didn’t actually work it. It was weird but I was so packed with fun stuff that I don’t think I would have had the time to work it! I’d have missed too much!
OK, I’m going to tell you about the great Dr Who panel I went to. This was the first panel I went to at the very start of the convention. All I have to say is what a great way to start off! I met some great people and I kept running into them through the whole weekend! We talked about our fave doctor (mine is Tom Baker), and what we liked about the show and how we’d love to see it come back. Also we got to watch this super funny show that the superfans over in England did. They even got the creator of the Daeliks to be in it! THey spoofed the BBC heads trying to decide what to do with Dr Who next. And so the atheltic department shows this funny grudgematch between the doctors and the villians set at the home for retired doctors. What a freaking hoot! It was so funny I was laughing so hard! I did write down a Dr Who thing they have at the local library that I’m going to have to check out. I can’t wait to see it. Hmmm, maybe I’ll go see if they have it tomorrow! HAHA
OK… I am going to go as this entry is long. I’ll write more tomorrow!

Re: Dr. Who?
Dr Who rocks! I wish that they still showed it here. *SIGH* If ever they release Dr Who fully to DVD, I’m buying it! I will take on a job if I have to! I know they have some random episodes on DVD. There are a couple I have my eye on. The 100 buck Key to Time for one.
I miss Dr Who! I MISS IT! It is 40 years old this year! Dr Who really was the longest running tv show ever. It rocked!
