Sir Megabyte leaves in one week. Next Saturday. Insane.

Last night we went on a little date and of course cruised into the gaming store. How could we not? Well, so anyway, we were looking for games that we could internet play (preferably for FREE but if we have to get a sub for an enjoyable game FINE.. just gets tiring to pay and jazz.). I’m sick to death of EverQuest and their expansions every two seconds and etc etc etc. Plus it is hard work and no fun. I mean it is great when you have a new character but then suddenly you can’t solo, you are stuck HAVING to play for hours and all sorts of stuff. We want something we can just play for an hour a night or something. Something where you don’t feel like you have to work to get somewhere either.

Well anyway we saw several options. Never did make up our minds. We could always go back to Diablo but we’re kind of tired of that. I mean, we’ve solved the game and solved the game and solved the game. So it would be nice to get something fresh.

I do have my own copy of Magesty with its expansion, Age of Empire plus the Rome or whatever expansion, and Civilization 2 should any of those be internet playable. I remarked on getting these earlier this month on some bargain pack. Older games but anyway.

We did find this game. Only one copy though. EB Games had it marked down to only five bucks. No way! Well what the heck… for five bucks I could give it a test drive. If it sucks, I’ll give it to the kids. They aren’t near as picky. And I don’t think they have ANY space games. If it rocks, perhaps Sir Megabyte can locate his own copy. Of course we could always try to be pirates (Argh Matey!) and see if we could copy the cd and play that way… but for five bucks why bother. Then again for five bucks would they care? Anyway, this game is called ORB, standing for Off-World Resource Base. Well I think I’m going to go load it now and see how it works. Sir Megabyte did get Morrowind for like 30 or 40 bucks. It has like expansions or something. I dunno. But we think it is only one player. He is reading up on it. But he figured this would be something for him to do, especially if I wasn’t available. He looked into this game a while back but we never followed through with it. Well at any rate, I’m off to load ORB and try it out! I’ll post back later!
