Only Amy, Tammy, and I were there. I followed Amy and we had it at Tammy’s house. It looks like it is probably going to be at her house for the next few months because her husband is in school at nights. We don’t want her to have to pay for a sitter. I hauled almost everything. Almost. We chit chatted while setting up and trying to figure out what to stamp. We decided that we were just gonna keep the group to ourselves. No one else came even though they supposedly wanted to. And they were all the ones who said “let’s do summertime stamping”. Well glad I didn’t worry about that because we didn’t do that… haha I had wanted to do baby ones and the other gals had a couple they had wanted to do for other things going on.
All right, here’s the breakdown.
Me: The Stamp Queen. I have TONS of sets. As we all know. I am slowly getting a collection of the SU inks as well. I now have five. The inks, papers, pens, and chalks all coordinate with SU.
Tammy: Paper and Ink Queen. She at some point started buying in sets. She will order the ink, pen, and paper at one time. She has a few stamp sets.
Amy: Former consultant. Has just a mix of stuff. Unfortunately she didn’t keep her stamps in the cases at first so she has managed to lose a bunch.
Tammy did find the right size envelopes and bought a TON. She found them at OfficeMax. Guess where I’ll be going soon. I know she has a ton but still.
OK… so away we went. Amy loved the Furnished With Love set I got for buying so much crap. ROFL. So she made a fan card for her husband. He’s obsessed with fans apparently. She then made us all cards with the lamp in that set. I made us all chair ones! ROFL. I made my three baby cards. I had a spare one but I just remembered that my cousin’s wife is also having a baby so I guess it is good I made three.
Tammy actually had an extra set for babies that was only missing the safety pin. She gave it to me. That was awefully nice. I can probably do without the safety pin or if I really need a safety pin go see if there is a single safety pin stamp somewhere. How awesome! Thanks Tammy for being so nice! I need to assemble it though! *GROAN*
We stamped and stamped the night away. But wow! You should see our collection! Several times we each commented on how great that was. Apparently we ALL have the same problem. We get the bloody sets. We plan to use them to make cards. But then we never have time to sit down and just make cards so we end up not having what we need. So either we rush to make one and then race out for whatever or we just buy a card. Well this way we are building up our supply! This is great! I now have like 18 or 19 cards!! They are mostly of the friendshippy type though I did make a thank you one.
Amy’s grandmother lives in a home of some sort. Apparently they have card sets available there but they are only the same set so all the people buy these cards and give them out. Her grandmother has requested stationary that is DIFFERENT! I can understand that!! So Amy wants to not only build her collection, but put together a collection for her grandmother for Christmas. I think this is a marvelous idea! So did Tammy. So we started making four cards. We each got one and then we put one in the stack for Amy’s grandmother!! It doesn’t take hardly any more time to make the additional cards so this is an excellent way to use resources. It’s like the freezer cooking I did in Ohio.
We loved it. And it is more fun in a group so we have already set a date for August!! YAY! Hopefully I will be able to perfect my system a little by then! LOL. I have to sit in the house next week because of some work being done on it so I’ll have time to try to perfect my organization a bit. Maybe make it so it isn’t as much I’m schlepping around! We’ll see!
Amy and I do want to get together and scrapbook as well. Tammy isn’t into that as much. Amy’s got an upcoming vacation and so we probably won’t do anything for a while. Though now that I have my stuff… mwahahahaha. My friend, Allie, also wants to scrapbook. We can actually do that during the day while the kids play so hey! π Unforunately (right now) Amy and Allie are totally unrelated circles of friends. I might have to change that… LOL.
Things are well. I’m feeling crafty!
I posted our cards on my moblog if anyone wants to see them. All but one. I brought these four home to complete. I had not taken my grommet tools and neither had Amy and Tammy didn’t have any. So I will do that at some point when I have time.
*JECKASUE… BE PROUD OF ME…* Yes I said I was going to do the grommet “eyelet” thing. (Sorry eyelet is still lace to me and grommets are still grommets!) And guess what? It’s on a card where I used TAGS!!! I figured this was big important news that you would be proud of. I’m going to complete them here and take them to the next meeting. π
First I have to clean. Today we don’t really have any errands so I’m CLEANING because hello… mega craft explosion in my room yesterday! LOL
