Sir Megabyte slept until like 2 or 3. What’s up with that?
Kids played outside a bit.
Now the kids are working on their hooked on phonics and reading. They so love to read! They are so cute. I love them. Joram goes “Man I’m getting far!” Caramon is over halfway done with his box.
The boys mnow the rule. Our rule is when you finish a Hooked On Phonics box and get that last star, you get to go to Friendly’s! Mmm, monster ice cream! Yum Yum!
They are big readers.
Now we are sitting down to dinner.
Oh I made a graphic today. A background that is kind of tie dyed origami paper looking. Cool, huh? If that guy does want me to do his page and he likes it… I’m going to see if he wants it for his page. I might use it for a portion of his page or the whole page or something. I’m not sure. We’ll see. It is fun playing in photoshop and I’m learning all sorts of cool stuff. Mainly memorizing where all the buttons are. I’m really just trying out all my textures to see what they do. Hehehe.

Oh, so you checked that out? Well, my main question is … what’s the deal with the way the Sci-Fi Channel is advertising it? “Original” and “all new” series? As far as I can tell, it was made in 1999 and some people have seen it before.
Of course, during SG-1 last night they had a comercial for the “original series” Tripping the Rift too … Okay, granted, the series might be new but it’s based off a fan-made short that was going around the internet back before the end of 1998!

IT was made in 1999? Really?
I’ll have to look into it. I already deleted it so I can’t check what year it was claiming. I have no idea. But they do say that Stargate is a “Sci Fi original series” when really it was a Showtime Original series that they ganked when Showtime cancelled it.
Sci Fi wants everything.

I didn’t watch it but I did watch the credits. Like every station has sadly been doing for years now, they were squished to one of the side screen. I couldn’t figure out the date so I’m not sure saving it would have helped.
SciFi wants to own everything … ‘cept new B5, Firefly (when they had a chance to pick it up), Farscape, etc, etc. 😛
Though I am glad someone got SG-1. I do quite enjoy it. Hell, I just ordered cable for my dorm room again a few days just cause there was new eps on the way! 🙂

I can’t believe that sci fi wants drivel and not the good stuff like B5, Firefly, and Farscape. On the B5 thing though, were they able to? When it was cancelled on the original channel then TNT picked it up. Is it possible there was something written up? I know Sci Fi shows old B5. (YAY) Something to think about.
The problem with sci fi is they have a loser running it. Talk about needing firing. GRRR.
Firefly deserves a second chance. *SIGH*
I’m glad someone got SG-1 as well. It is an awesome show. They are talking about having a spin off after next season. That would be neat, eh? I mean, the show is getting old and as much as I love it and think they are doing great, I know the actors probably don’t want to do it much longer. 😦 You know how that goes. So I’m glad that it may continue in SOME way. Even if it isn’t my gang I love so much.
Stargate rocks. At some point when I have the funds, I’m buying the DVDs. (And a bunch of other series.)
Hey sci fi shows four episodes in a row on Monday night. 🙂 A reason to live on Monday! Right now they are on season um.. 2? 3? Something like that.

Okay, I meant stuff in the B5 universe. True, they did try to get their hands on Crusade after the TNT fiasco. But they didn’t go ahead with a series based off of Legends of the Rangers. True, it didn’t get stellar ratings but it was against the highest rating football playoffs in recent history (sadly) and at the time that SciFi wanted to opt for cheaper, down-to-Earth programming. True, there might have been problems with the movie but The Gathering was rather mediocre and sometimes silly too and look what came of that?!
And since then SciFi hasn’t been as open to JMS as they could have been. He’d been planning a series for them for nearly a year, getting a go-ahead at every stage. At the final moment before they’d go into serious pre-production, SciFi decided to go for … a series based on intergallactic (not insterstellar) vampires … oy …
So that’s what I meant about B5. Luckily JMS promises sometime in the next few days or weeks to give the beans on some big B5 project going into the works! We think either a TV mini-series or feature film. ^__^
And it appears that the B5 reruns on SciFi will be taking a hiatus soon (if they haven’t already; not sure – only just cable again). But it’s all coming on DVD. ^__^
Firefly got such a bum rap. Everyone – and I mean everyone – who I know who has watched the DVDs but not much or any when it first aired has really liked it. Hopefully this means the Firefly movie will do well. Some fans are petitioning for it to become the first made-for-DVD series. Not sure if the market is ready for that yet …
Yeah, I know about the SciFi showings. I was eagerly awaiting that in fall 2002 cause I’d never seen it when it was on Showtime. Monday nights for me were great times. 😉
And yes, they are making a spin-off. Production will start soon and it is to begin airing in June – along with SG-1’s season 8. The SG-1 feature film has been pushed back till after the series ends. Of course, that movie was supposed to lead into the series Stargate: Atlantis but SG-1 kept getting another and another and another season. The original plot for the movie is now the final two episodes of SG-1’s season 7. 🙂

I think Legend of the Rangers stunk. I had such a hard time keeping focused on the movie. They shafted the B5 universe. I mean, OK, it was better than some sci fi movies, but as far as B5 goes? Sucked.
Intergalatic vampires? Erm. Uh.. Yeah, no comment.
Oh another B5 thing? Hopefully it will get a chance unlike the last one. I’m still mad about the Legend of the Rangers. It had such possibilities. 😦 They really gipped the Ranger cast and the fans.
I’m getting sick of Sci Fi starting up series runs and then not finishing it out. I mean OK, if you’ve done the whole series once thru put it on pause and run another and pull that one back out another time. But I swear they just stop midway through and jazz. It is frelling annoying. And while I kind of like this five hour marathon in the daytime, it is hard to predict and sometimes they don’t show something for 8 weekdays and I tend to forget to check. *SIGH* But then it is so long before they show that one again…
Firefly was shafted. Fox is a bunch of morons. I watched the whole thing and only reason I stuck around was because 1. it was sci fi and 2. it was Joss. And I was intrigued. Then when I saw the REAL pilot I was like ‘OMG!” Fox is a bunch of idiots too. Of course they also cancelled my Dark Angel. GRR
I started watching Stargate from the get go. I even have the extended Stargate Movie they did to premiere the series. Taped it. I was mad when they up and cancelled. Then all of a sudden a week or two before Sci Fi began new episodes, I saw advertisments flood the market and i was like WOOHOO.
I’ve got the TV GUide article talking about the Stargate Spin OFf. Sounds neat. I hope to see Stargate continue. Sci fi Has done well with it I think so far. I don’t mind Atlantis sitting in the wings, I say let SG1 run as long as possible and then bring out Atlantis. HEHE

I’ll admitt Legend of the Rangers could have been better but it had promise since I always believe nothing is as it seems with JMS. I think most of the reasons it wasn’t as good as it could have been were influence from SciFi. When I first saw The Gathering I thought it was okay but (to my own regret) wasn’t interested in watching the series until I saw some S3 episodes in rerun.
I understand what you’re saying about Atlantis waiting … but I think they’re tired of waiting, heh! When showtime canceled SG-1 in season 5, they thought it was it. They might have some ideas for a movie but they thought no new episodes. I could see them getting a movie after the end of season 5. Annubis uses the knowledge stolen from Thor and his own knowledge as an ex-Assendent to go search from the Lost City and the then Assended Daniel has to get SG-1 to stop him.
But SciFi picks up the series so they need to develop S6. Fine, they bring more depth to Annubis and – knowning S6 would be the last – work the final episode to be the dramatic attack on Abydos. Daniel speaks of the Lost City. Bingo – right there, we’ll go to movie which will lead to Atlantis.
Then … SciFi (after they filmed the last episode)said “Let’s do S7!” which really screwed over their plans but, hey, more SG-1! Luckily, this time, they were told well in advance there would be an S8 so they could plan for it. By now, they were tired of waiting for the plot of the movie and the introduction of Atlantis so they’re just going ahead anyway.
Of course, with SG-1 going to a season 8, it is now one of the longest running SF shows in history. The only ones I know of that beat it are the possibly eternal champ Doctor Who and The X-Files.
Speaking of Who … I hear new eps are stupposed to air on BBC1 early next year. ^__^ I wonder how soon we’ll get them over here … or I find someone with BBC1 on satalite!!

Hey, guess what I have? BBC America. And trust me I weekly search to see if Doctor Who is on… hahaha How sad am I? But every once in a while they run one. I’m hoping for some fruity 10 AM time slot or something because then I don’t have to worry about conflicts. Dr Who KICKS! I am so glad they are bringing it back. WOOHOO.
Yeah I do think Stargate is about the longest running sci fi show. Dr Who needs to be taken out of the mix because it is going to be near impossible to beat that! HEHE. But I think most usually go five to seven seasons. But you know, season 8 is pretty good for most shows anyway. Very few shows make it that long. There’s a few on now that are in like Season 10, but there’s a lot of freshman shows out there. And it seems like some make it five maybe six years and that is it.
I like it! We need something besides Star Trek lasting. I love Star Trek, but aside from that it seems like in the past you could barely get to season 3 on shows. If you are lucky, 5. But lately we’ve had several. Charmed is on Season 6, Buffy went to season 7, X Files… WOOHOO. Longer lasting sci fi! Longer lasting sci fi!
