We watched Holes tonight as some special time. What a good movie. I mean for something that gives no details on the back so it sounds pretty lame this was awesome. I must complain, back details? Lame. Movie? Great.
The basic gist of the movie is about a kid who’s family is supposedly cursed helps break the curse by fullfilling his great grandfather’s promise. It all happens when the kid is mistakenly arrested for stealing some shoes and sent to a detention camp with the great great grandson of the person the grandfather promised to do something for. While at this camp in the middle of the desert these boys are digging holes. They don’t know why. But it historically ties into the owner of the camp and this boy. I mean what an interesting thing. I really liked the style it was done in. You have the present which is the camp and digging the holes and stuff. Meanwhile you have these flashbacks that tell you the whole history. The history of the main boy’s family. The history of the place the camp is located. The whole thing was just a really great story. I give it a definate two thumbs up.
