This morning we went and ate at Aunt Sarah’s. I love this place. But I was still so full from my lobster bisque last night that I couldn’t eat all of my chocolate chip pancakes!! How wrong is that? I love this place… it is soooo fattening but one that is sooo worth it for special events.
After that I went with my parents to the market and Sir Megabyte took the boys bowling. Joram got a strike and two spares!! He’s apparently super bowler! Caramon only got a spare Poor kid. But they had a total blast. And by the way this is mega bucks now. 25 almost 30 bucks for the three of them to go bowling one frame! GRRR.
I read some more of Angels and Demons. That book is getting REALLY good. I may sit in bed and read all day when I get back! Holy smokes… I gotta finish it!
My oldest and dearest chum, Stef, came over. She works for the historical society and we’ve been friends since 6th grade. We went to catholic school together. She gave Sir M and me a lovely ornament from the white house collection. Gorgeous. And the boys got more of the coolest gifts ever collection. Auntie Stef always gives the most wonderful gifts. There’s a neat game that we will definately have to investigate. And there was a puzzle of the United States and I can’t remember what the other puzzle is. The coolest thing though is this little book thingy. It has all these word block thingies that can go together to make sentances. And there’s a white board. The boys LOVE it. Poor Auntie Stef though… both her cool toy stores have closed down!
We took the boys to Carl’s, this ice cream joint that I really cannot explain. Just… it is the place to go. We got cones, except for Caramon who wanted a shake. Then we went over to where Stef and I went to school together and we walked the battlefield. We told the boys all about the Battle of Fredericksburg and the Angel of Marye’s Heights and we walked around. We had great fun trying to figure out just where everything was at Montfort when it still stood. The park service did an amazing job tearing it down. You can’t even tell it was ever there! We walked through the graveyard. we looked at the old convent. It was really great. Next time we’ll have to go to another site. The boys LOVED it!
We dropped the boys back home and Stef and I went to get sushi. My gosh we got a lot. So we talked about all sorts of stuff. Books, life, sushi, history. I did talk to her about that Passion movie which she said she’s got some friends she’s gonna go see it with. She told me she’d tell me how it is. But we talked about this recent disagreement I saw over how Christ looked. She couldn’t believe it. She says that the only ones in that time period who had short hair were scribes like Judas and the romans. But the class that Jesus was in he would have had long hair. Interesting. Hmmm. She agreed… who fricking cares, isn’t it who he is rather than what he looks like?
That was pretty much my Sunday. Oh I did share that goofy wedding dress site with my mom. She loves it. She’s been giggling all weekend. 🙂
