Our real estate agent apparently changed companies. It was prudential. I just went to see if there was a counter on the page for our house or anything. (No) It now is listed as a Coldwell Banker… same agent though. So I guess the office changed or she changed or something? I don’t know.
Wouldn’t you expect to be told something like that? I don’t know…
I’m just frustrated on the house front. It is hard to be hopeful going into the really bad market after having it on the market for six months during what was the “good” market that wasn’t even that good.
So looks like it won’t sell until next spring barring a miracle. Oh please send me a miracle.
Another six months and I will have sent my mortgage company 11k. For a house I have not lived in for 8 months. (that’s 8 months of payments) Now THAT is a depressing thought. Spending 8 months in my old bedroom at mum’s house while dropping 11k on a beautiful wonderful house. Even more depressing is going back to Ohio while Sir Megabyte stays here and living through the nightmare of having a house on the market and living in it with kids!!
Repeat after me… All houses sell. All houses sell. All houses sell. It is my mantra lately…

That doesn’t sound good, Oz. I’m thinking you’d have to sign a new contract and all that jazz if she switched companies. Because your “seller” contract probably was with Prudential, not her specifically, and if you didn’t know about her switch…. she should have told you.
Have you had contact with her? Is your house getting seen regularly? If no contact, or it’s not getting seen, I’d suggest contacting another agent, even if it meant a weekend trip back to get it all set up.
I had this thought this morning as I was looking at my needing-to-be-mowed lawn… is someone mowing your grass while you aren’t there?
Seriously though, there’s some sort of an ethical at least breach in contract going on. You need to investigate further.

Thanks for thinking…
I left my neighbours money to take care of my yard. They are watching my house and taking care of anything. There was a lady in my ward there who told me this horror story about how her realtor was supposed to take care of things and then they got this phone call from a friend and it turned out nothing had been done since they had left like six weeks before! So I took preventative measures!
There’s been a trickle of activity. Unfortunately nothing is coming of the activity.
As for any breach of contract, I’m not going to stress about it. The contract is up next Tuesday and I only just found out about. Why bother. I am in the process of trying to attain a new realtor though because this is just one more thing that annoys me.
My current realtor isn’t even talking to me. I have to call her and she basically says the same thing. “A few people have looked, nothing yet. You should drop the price of your home 5k.” When I talked to her three weeks ago she said nothing about changing from Prudential to Coldwell Banker.
But my contract was with her. She’s my agent.
The other reason I’m not going to worry about ethics or anything is just because I don’t feel like digging through storage to find our contract folder. Not when the contract is up in a week. 🙂
Hopefully finding a new agent the house will once more go on “new listings” and maybe it will see a little more activity this fall than it normally would have… a girl can dream…
