A month ago I gave my friend Nancy a small fraction of our old baby clothes. She’s got a GORGEOUS little boy. She came by today and gave me five photography books! She’s a stunning photographer (as is her sister). She gave me some recommendations last month for some photography so I am already appreciative. Well these books, she offered them to me but I didn’t expect her to really give them to me. She assures me she doesn’t need them so I am very grateful. She didn’t have to bring them up from NC but she did.

People are so awesome sometimes!!

Anyway, I’m hoping to learn a lot from these books. There is “The Book of Photography”, “The Photographer’s Handbook”, “Professional Photographic Illustration”, “Digital Photography”, “How to Shoot Stock Photos That Sell”. The last one actually has 35 assignments, if you do them you end up with a portfolio to try to sell! That’s pretty cool. Nancy says that stock is a good way to start off, and to be able to stay home and sell your pictures.

I’ve already fingered through several of the books and they’ve been in my hands less than an hour! ROFL.

In other news, I thought i heard the paper was shortstaffed for photographers, but there’s nothing on their website. But they are hiring a reporter. And me with my farking writing portfolio in storage… goodness knows WHERE!!!! Le Sigh. Oh well….

OK, enough LJ… gonna go flip through my books some more.
