My poor mother didn’t stand a chance. She was doomed. I’m so mean…

Ok, so I cleaned up the family room and my bedroom from the special project that has been in the works. I’ve returned things to the pre-project state. Yay!! I gave the family room a good working over. The whole thing. Yay! Looks great!

Then we went to grab lunch and stop by the cable company. On our list of complaints: 1. My mother paid her bill, has the cancelled and dated check that she paid in the office. They held it another 10 days thus having her arru a late charge. Not pleased. 2. We’d mentioned that our cable reception is not the greatest at times. The Office Manager (a friend of ours BTW) said maybe it was the cable in the house going bad after all these years. It’s only 25 years old (if it is the original) so it could be the issue. She arranged somene to come out to check on it. He refused saying no one knew what they were talking about. He also used his “I’m the big bad tech man guy and you guys are just the little women with no brains for this kind of stuff.” I mean the 9 desktop computers laying around the family room didn’t tip him off to something? Plus my laptop being in front of the TV? Plus all the computer parts littering the area as we’ve in the process of trying to go through our stuff and dad’s stuff? Okies dude… open your eyes. Of course this always annoys me since my husband works telecom. I DO know a few things about the industry. OK. (Yeah I get it ALL the time from the phone company too. So when he started in, just forget it… I was very unhappy.) So anyway he didn’t even check what he was there to check. He fiddled with our box and that was it. 3. Our net has been dodgy the last 48 hours so we inquired concerning that. We were of course told “There are no issues.” Um.. yeah right. 4. We returned the old DVR because there was a problem with the hard drive. We got the new one.

We came home and got to work on the kitchen. We cleaned out the two food cupboards. Holy cow, there’s a mountain of room in there!! I got tired of not being able to get anything in the cabinets when there was nothing in there! I also worked on the cupboard above the stove. So now? There’s the cupboard to the immediate right of the stove and the bottom cabinet to the left of the dishwasher and the cupboards will be done! Woohoo!

The kids got home and I made them clean up their table mess. It’s littered with their homework. We also got a load of dishes washed. Another for tonight. I folded a load of clothes, and started my third load for today. The second is in the dryer finishing up right now actually.

I also worked around on Sir M’s desktop but can’t figure anything out. Hmmm.

And of course our room being clean is nice too! 🙂 WooHoo!
