I am losing my mind. The internet connection thing is getting worse. I’m getting really sick of not being able to get onto the web. I can access everything on the network just fine. But the internet? Forget it. Worst time was 4 minutes on the internet before losing connection. Best today was 45 minutes. It has been a nightmare to even check my email. It is really making me mad.
Apparently from what LITTLE I have been able to do, others have had this trouble with the router as well. Works great for a few months and then frells itself to death. Though since I’m connecting to the network, si this really the router? I don’t know.
I’ve got the firmware upgrade to try. Not sure how that’s going to affect things. So if I vanish for even worse amount of time than the last couple of weeks… it’s due to the stupid upgrading. I can’t upgrade till mum gets off her game for enough time to do it. So… not sure when I’m going to actually attempt it.
All I know is… This Sucks Royally

Another comment, yes it is the router. The box is a combination of 2 thingsm a HUB and a router. The HUB (or switch, I do not know which model you have, but if its a netgear its probably a schitty one even if it is a switch) works fine, so you can access other computers connected to the network, its the router portion thats broken. I am willing to bet the router could go completely braindead and the hub/switch built in would still work flawlessly. I know for a fact it would on some models of the linksys router, because I have taken them apart and know how they work ;). You can physically seperate the switch portion of the router from the router portion, as they are 2 seperate boards (atleast in the model I had).

All I know is that I told my father I was mad and WOULD be updating the firmware. He said “Can I just throw it in the garbage and finally get my linksys one?” (He loves linksys and hates netgar)
