I couldn’t sleep last night and I couldn’t sleep this morning. So I read this morning until my mum dragged me out to run errands. We dropped into the paper. That was fun. She had to renew her subscription and of course I just let myself breathe in the smell of newsprint. Yum. I miss the hustle and bustle of writing for a paper. Ahhh deadlines and writing articles at 3AM to get it into the editor by 6! I know, I’m wild but thre’s a thrill around reporters that I feel!

After that we went to the most evil store ever. The yarn store. This is as bad as a bookstore!! My mum apparently ran out of yarn on my grandmother’s shawl on the road trip down. It wasn’t quite done. So she showed her mum the shawl and promised to finish it up asap. So off we went to the yarn store. I love this store. It’s in old town and is all boutiquey. The shops downtown are just fun to go walk through. They just aren’t the same as all the commercial chains out there. There’s a whole ambience. I love downtown and walking around. Well anyway, mum and I ended up with some new yarn for projects. Including three skeins for me to make something out of, but we don’t have any ideas yet. But it was so pretty and because it was discontinued and on sale we scooped it up. Some yarn for scarves. Some yarn for baby blankets. So the yarn shortage around here is at an end.

After we dropped into the market and picked up groceries for this weekend, we came home. I read and knitted and then we watched five Andromeda’s we’d saved up on the DVR. Crazy.

I’m gonna get back to my knitting. I’m almost done with what I’ve made today. (And no it’s not a third scarf…)
