So everyone probably knows my house is still unsold and we moved out in June. Right? Going through the mail today I find:
A note from the water company.
In very weird packaging.
Now i know this is up to date. Since I”m not living there, there’s hardly any bill. Mostly for the trash service that is built in. So hmmm what could this be? So I rip it open…
Seems they are concerned the meter outside is not giving the right reading. They want to schedule an appointment for me to let them into the home so they can check the real stuff that’s in the basement. They want to make sure everything is OK and it doesn’t need to be replaced. You know, so they can get a proper reading and make more money.
Anyway, they have been reassured that the water meter is indeed functioning properly… Poor water company. Bet they want my house sold too… HEHE

Re: Huh?
If the water company wants someone to buy your house, they should buy it from you. 😀

The utilities think they have a right to be greedy and selfish. They do all sorts of garbage down here that borders on illegal like not reading your meter but guessing at what it says. ARGH. What I do not get is how my Gas bill can still be $26 in the summer when almost nothing runs on gas except my heater. The way we use hotwater I am pretty sure our water heater does not run on gas. They must charge me a fee just to have it hooked to my house is the best that I can figure out.

Oh I hate that whole “estimated”
And then they always seem to estimate low so they come out and they are like “Oh you’re like 500 over what we thought” and you get slapped with a nasty bill. Ugh.
And as for gas. 1. Gas is evil 2. I don’t know about your gas but my gas I have to apparently pay some flat fee every month for the glorious curse of having gas. It’s like 25 or 30 bucks. It’s right there on my bill itemized. Gas service = x Gas usage = y. So in the summer my bill is like five bucks over that and then the winter… yeah. I went on the budget plan for that though because I couldn’t cope with a 300 buck gas bill for January. Even that out some. Sheesh. Whatever it is it pisses me off. I’d rather have electric which IS cheaper and then I don’t have to pay for two services gosh darn it!
