The game rocked. The Riverdogs won. Woot. Four to One. Though everything was scored in the first period which we missed. We were caravanning down with the other scouts and the leader took a wrong turn. Not really his fault, the directions he had printed off were not the most clear. So we ended up driving through some very scary parts of Richmond. We did drive right through the VCU campus though so that was cool. I’ve never seen that campus before but have friends who went there. Nice to have an actual visual.

So we ended up missing the first period, but that’s OK. We got to see several fights so that was great! It’s not hockey without a good fight, I don’t care if they are trying to say they aren’t violent anymore. Hockey rocks when they slam into the glass and knock each other’s helmets off.

It was scout night so they called out all the packs and the packs cheered. We weren’t the loudest, but we made some noise! I don’t know that there were many people there who weren’t scouts! The scouts packed the place. There were some pretty fangirls who jumped up and down like mad every time music played though! They got spotlighted several times.

The boys got hockey pucks with the team logo on one side and the scout logo on the other. They also got free thundersticks, blown up sticks you bang together and they make a lot of noise. Of course, Sir M and missed the table with the free pucks so he bought them pucks. Those weren’t scouting pucks, so it is fine. now the boys have some cool hockey pucks to add to their collection from Ohio. I can’t remember what those pucks were. Plus of course they have their baseball stuff as well.

It wasn’t a bluejackets game, but it was a lot of fun. Live games are fun. The second period was a little slow, but the third livened up. Lots of attempts on the goal, but the goalies were on the ball!
