I took some pictures of my mum’s cat again. She’s a pretty model and I’m really trying to get the hang of things! I’ll post a few of the pictures here, but I’ll be posting them all to my my moblog for you to see.

On the advice of another enthusiest, Terry, I tried out something new.

The winning combination for no flash in the family room with poor lighting and too much brown? I put the camera on manual focus and placed it on a tripod. I started with her recommendations but the picture was just too dark still. Shot the shutter speed at a few various settings and voile! Roughly 50mm with the shutter set to 1/6. The f-stop (aperture) was setto F5.6 and there’s this other number I’m actually not sure what is that was -3.0.

I still can’t get macro to work but I think it is just a lighting/still subject thing there. If I can find something well lit that would be nice for a macro, I might try again. I think the cat in the dark room is just NOT going to work!! HAHA

OK, here’s a couple of the photos from my moblog:

Thanks to Terry, thanks to my books, and thanks to hours of surfing TA and other photography websites! Here’s hoping for better pictures of lights too! 🙂
