Both my laptop and my desktop are getting a little cobwebby. It’s been a few months since I did a real cleaning out. I mean the getting into the back closets and so forth. Time to air the linens, open the windows, and get those back corners!
I’m starting with my laptop Once I’m finished on here, then I’ll go to my desktop.
I started off with scanning. Might as well start off there, right? Then it’s the remove programs. Follow up with a disc cleanup I love disc cleanup. It is like a one stop shop to hit several cobwebby areas. Then going through the My Documents folder. I had a couple of vids I’d already watched in there so they went to the trash. Woot! I can remove a bunch of audiobooks that I’ve already listened to So on and so forth. Meanwhile, also move any files onto my desktop pc that need to go there. Since my hard drive is so small on my laptop, I tend to keep the majoirty of my documents on my pc.
I’ve cleaned up my Favourites. I really don’t use that, but tend to throw stuff in there. It’s like my own Internet Junk Drawer. I’ve already removed half of the Favourites.
Why spring cleaning I of course updated. Hello winblows update!
There’s some longer term minor stuff that I will do over the next couple of days. Namely the Photoshop program. I loaded a ton of actions that I need to go and remove. They aren’t real big, but there’s no need to have 75 of these actions I don’t like and won’t use.
When I’m done with both of these computers, I’m loading a toy I was playing with last night. I loaded it on hubby’s computer without his knowledge. Shhhhhhhhh!
Buh Bye Explorer. Yes, Windows Explorer. That shell is toast. I’m going for the 30 day trial of a new shell. Aston. I was up until 4 AM playing with it. It’s awesome. Most of all it’s sleek, it’s about fifty times faster than Explorer, and it is hopefully more stable. There are some nifty toys for it and themes. At the end of thirty days I will decide if I want to purchase it. It’s not a whole lot of money.
The only complaint I have (other than I stayed up until 4 AM playing it was so much fun) is that I can’t seem to find how to keep the XP style Start menu. I hate the old school menu. I love the layout of the XP one. *SIGH* Of course, I may find a way to do it so…..
Anyway, this will be how my day goes.

Well like I said last night,
He thought it was interesting. I couldn’t really tell if he was humouring me or not. He did ask why I “sacrificed” his computer in testing it the other night. HAHA Hey, I think his computer is running better than ever. Of course at that time, I discovered… He STILL hadn’t loaded antivirus software! Yipes! *SIGH* I’ve got some work to do I guess… LOL
I’m hoping he’ll play with this new shell a little this weekend and give me real feedback. π
