Everyone I know misses you! You were so cool! I mean, we are glad that we got to know Paige and Paige may not have been reunited if you hadn’t have died… so there was some good… but I for one loved you and still miss you! And I know I’m not the only one!
In all seriousness though… I really do miss Prue. I like Shannon as well and am sad that she has such a bad rep. I have never seen anything that would show that she is near as bad as the rumours have her. I am tempted to watch her new show on Sci Fi even though I have zero interest in the show itself… I’d be watching just to see Shannon in something. Not that I don’t want her new show to succeed or anything, but I hope that she gets some good jobs in the future so I can see her in more stuff.

Seriously: I don’t believe she’s that bad, either. I think she’s an outspoken woman in an industry that would rather her keep her mouth shut, and it gets her into trouble. I’ve talked to a couple of people who have met her (I was insanely jealous) and they said she’s a sweetheart. The show on SciFi is pretty funny, though. If you like elaborate practical jokes, of course 😉

Seriously, I have heard also that Shannon is sweet. I really do wonder what the deal is. I think it is her and Spelling. They just must not connect. Or maybe you are right. Maybe her opinions are not the popular ones that Hollywood seems to promote. Which would be a shame. BTW I am insanely jealous that you know people who met her. 🙂 I’m sorry for what went down on Charmed. For her and for the poor writers.

Serious: It’s not so much I know people who’ve met her as it is I’ve talked with them online once or twice 😉 Yeah, I don’t think she and Spelling ever really got along great, either. They certainly don’t now, not after how they fired her (did you hear that story? It’s awful) And the poor writers, having to find some way to kill her without showing her body and then be able to explain why she can’t show up as a ghost a la Patty and Grams. *sigh*
Y’know what would have been awesome? Prue, Piper, and Paige. 😀

But at least you can see them from time to time, even if it is as a ghost or whatever it is you guys call yourselves! 🙂 Thankfully you guys are witches and have that ability! Serious: ITA, I think that her and Spelling just couldn’t make it work and I don’t think they will ever be able to now. I heard at the time about the firing but now it is so foggy I don’t remember a thing. Other than getting the impression that Alyssa and Holly were kind of upset about it and not really in agreement with “management’s” decision. That’s all I really remember. Feel free to refresh my memory. 🙂 I did really feel bad for the writers though. They had such a good storyline going that they had to totally trash. Then they had to work around having no Shannon and not being able to use footage of Shannon. Not to mention, the whole show was about THREE sisters and they were stuck with two. So they had to work so hard to come up with a way to get another sister and the timing was really rough since Patty died so young. And they had to do the “Mommy just got fat” thing? Like Prue at least wouldn’t have known her mother was pregnant. She would have been 7ish. Something like that. Anyway, I applaud the writers for the good job they did with ‘Charmed Again’. They didn’t have much to work with and it was sudden and they did a remarkable job. I bet every last one of them was cursing the situation though. And I also wondered what they would do since they’ve had Patty and Grams show up as ghosts from time to time and how they would get around that with Prue. I’m glad you guys have worked Prue into your storyline. 🙂
Hmmm… Prue, Piper, and Paige? That could have been fun… Gosh I love all four of the sisters… I would be sad without Piper or Phoebe too. Interesting to think about though! My favourite sister now is Piper though so I think I would cry a week if they lost her. She’s probably my favourite because she is the one I can relate to the most since she’s married with a kid now… hehe

Yes, being with Andy is a huge plus. He was one of the first people to meet me when I came up here, and he’s barely left my side since. It’s sweet. 🙂
Seriousness! Shannen firing: they took the cowards’ way out. They let her wrap the season, and then while she was in Canada filming a movie, they called her lawyer and told the lawyer to tell her she was out of a job. They wouldn’t take any of her calls, either, when she called to ask pretty much, “What the hell?” Alyssa was perfectly fine with Shannen going, but Holly was livid. They did do a good job with “Charmed Again” given their situation, which is something I don’t think a lot of fans realize when they complain that they never showed how Leo got Phoebe out of the Underworld and blah. They had serious issues, including the prophecy about the Charmed Ones (because really, if Patty had four kids, they never were the Charmed Ones). They were just lucky they had set up Patty’s going out with Sam in season 2 and that they had the girls save a baby Melinda Warren in “All Halliwells Eve”. That way, they have a plausible way to bring in Paige, and a way to say that the prophecy wasn’t really a prophecy, more like an old family story.
Prue being in the LJ game was kind of a fluke, hee. I’ve chatted online with “Piper” for a couple of years and the night she wanted to start Piper’s LJ, I said jokingly, “I should do one for Prue from Heaven!” She said that was a totally awesome idea, and thus LJ Prue was born 😉

I always imagined that Andy would be in the “Welcome to Heaven” crowd. Andy was a good guy and a dang good police officer. And he was totally awesome for you. And it is probably nice for him to have someone he grew up with to hang out with. (Not to mention someone he loves dearly.)
Serious: Wow, I don’t think I heard about them calling Shannon’s lawyer instead of just calling Shannon. Wusses. They KNEW they were being dumb and jerks and couldn’t face it. Wimps. GRRRR. I mean geeze… at least have the balls to call her up or take her calls and say “Yo, I just don’t like you.” You know? *SIGH* Of course I’m asking for decency from Hollywood…which can definately be indecent at times! I read more from Holly than from Alyssa at the time. Though the one thing I read from Alyssa gave me the impression that she didn’t agree with the WAY things went down. I know Holly was ticked beyond belief.
I do agree that they were lucky that some things had been set up to make it work out. Like you said, from when they went back in time and helped deliver the baby, there was the time they brought their ancesstress to the future, and there was the relationship being set up for mom to have been involved with her Whitelighter. Though the timing was really rough, their mom would have had to have gotten pregnant with Paige almost right after having Phoebe. You are right that it made “The Charmed Ones” more a family story than a prophecy which would get around the prophecy of there only being 3 sisters. Though you would wonder if Grams and Patty would wonder if their daughters were not the Charmed Ones since Patty had four daughters, even though she gave one up. Though you know what I have wondered? Grams and Patty went through the power binding thing with the original three sisters. But it would negate after Grams died. Sooooo…. did they bind Paige’s powers? And if so, why didn’t they come back after Grams died? And really… if it wasn’t a prophecy but a family story, then couldn’t Paige have different powers? Though she kind of does since she doesn’t really have the same type of moving objects like Prue. Though I’d love to see her be able to just move things without having to call them to her. And I guess she won’t get AP since she can orb. Though I do wonder how her powers will grow.
That’s interesting how your LJ started. I think it is a wonderful idea! After all, this isn’t bound by the stupidity of Spelling. And they definately showed in previous Charmed episodes where Grams would talk to Patty and how they have talked to the girls and played a role in the girls lives from beyond the grave. Only fair that Prue get that opportunity. Especially now that her sisters have come to terms with Prue’s death. I do enjoy reading what you guys come up with! You’re creative and entertaining! Andy’s great. He’s completely by my side every step of the way. Especially lately, he’s been incredible. I hardly ever give him enough credit, but he’s just awesome.
Serious: Yeah, they definitely were wimps. They knew she was going to be mad and they didn’t want to deal with her. Alyssa did say she wished things had gone differently, but I really don’t think she cared one way or the other (I have Alyssa issues ;))
The whole power-binding thing is another can of worms. I personally like to think they bound her powers just as they did with the other three, but she never got them back because she wasn’t there when Phoebe read the incantation in the first ep. When she did find her way back “home”, her powers were released because she was closer to the Book of Shadows. Whether or not that actually makes sense? Meh. It works well enough for me 😉

Serious: So I think that we should publically flog them for their wimpiness. Wimps wimps wimps! I have some Alyssa issues as well. I kind of waffle on her. Sometimes I like her, sometimes I don’t. I don’t think she and Shannon got along from what I read but at least she was big enough to admit they were different sorts of people. She was big enough to be able to accept that and move on unlike some unnamed WIMPS.
About the power binding… remember the episode where Paige remembered when her parents died in that car crash? She thinks she orbed out of the car. So if they did bind her powers they didn’t do that… or it didn’t work. Yet she never used her powers even by instinct. I don’t know, that has just always troubled me. It just doesn’t “feel” right. I mean, I accept it because I like the show and I have little choice… but still. If Paige’s powers were bound, perhaps they somehow did it with her whitelighter father and since he isn’t dead that is why she wasn’t freed? I dunno.
Hey, your brother can think what he wants. Brothers aren’t always the coolest or the brightest. I don’t have any brothers, but my brothers-in-law definately leave a lot to be desired. I’d rather have Leo. heck I’d rather have Cole… cole evil even! My husband thinks I am crazy for reading this stuff so I guess that makes us kind of even… hehe But I’ve never claimed to be sane… hmmmm… Anyway, you keep up the good work because it is definately entertaining! And have fun Shannon-picture hunting. 🙂 It can be fun to look up pictures. I’ve thought about making cool icons based on the stuff I like, but I just keep that picture of me instead. I do like your icon you used here, it is cool. But I’ve liked most of your icons. 🙂

Plus, when that all came out, they knew there was going to be backlash, so they tried to diffuse it with things like, “Hey, we can do it without her! We can do it better without her!” Like, way to alienate the already alienated Shannen fans *rolls eyes*
Oh, fanwank (I love that word, heh) on the Paige orbing out of the car thing: If they did bind her powers, they only powers bound were her witch powers. She still had the Whitelighter powers; she just wasn’t consciously aware of them. So, she couldn’t call for objects, but she could orb when she got very scared. Admittedly, this causes issues because what if she had been scared for her life more than once? There’s also another theory that the orbing out of the car was a one-time-only event because destiny knew she couldn’t die that day. That one’s iffy, too, so I don’t know. All I know is that ep, problematic as it made Paige’s past, was awesome 😉 I loved it. Rose made me cry twice, hee.
Well, my brother is only seventeen, so that may be why he thinks I’m crazy 😉 I love him dearly, though, so it’s cool. He’s mostly just joking with me anyway…I told him it could be worse. I could actually travel and playact and stuff with it 😉 *blush* Thanks about the icons! They’re surprisingly fun to make. I am learning a lot about my photo editor program, hehe.

Seriously: Yeah management sucked royally. Meanwhile the fans were cursing, the writers were cursing, Shannon and Holly were cursing. That’s a lot of cursing. Someone should be thankful that they didn’t get cursed royally by magics gone awry, you know what I mean?
About Paige’s orbing out of the car… ITA with what you said and think maybe the theory could be possible. Maybe orbing is an innate thing that whitelighters can do and there is no way to really keep it from happening and perhaps it was an instinctual thing. The first time Paige orbed was purely instinct. Though it is hard to think that it might never have happened any other time in her life. Maybe if it did she just thought she got lightheaded or something? I mean, she was kind of wild as a teenager so maybe she thought it was just being drunk or hung over or something. Hey, it could happen. That episode was pretty awesome though. It should be coming up soon on TNT I think and I am looking forward to seeing it. I like all the “past” episodes that give backstory. Rose really does an excellent job on the show. I’ve grown to like her a lot even though I was pissed at first and thought she’d never live up to Prue/Shannon.
I do have to hand it to the writers. They did come up with some excellent things with what they had to deal with. We’ve all seen when things happen when actors/actresses leave shows for whatever reasons. Let’s not forget the last season of Sliders. *SHUDDER* While I was sad that they couldn’t do what they were originally planning with that cliffhanger, at least they didn’t try any cheesy Shannon subs.
hehe, next year for April Fools tell him that Charmed producers have asked you to reprise the role of Prue on the show. Tell him you’re going to the plastic surgeon and etc the following week. hehehe Dang I’m bad. I really should have had a brother to terrorize… 🙂 Geeze though, I remember when my BIL was 17. I’m so sorry, really I am. *SNICKER* I think the icons would be fun, I’ve just never come up with anything I want to do. I love making graphics but I don’t do it a whole lot anymore. I made the background for my livejournal page.
BTW I saw you mentioned me (or at least my influence) in your blog. I feel so special that I affected the story line in some way. I’m trying to figure out how to brag to my friends without sounding like a total flake… hehehe 🙂 You should have seen me reading your last entry though!!

Seriousness: I wanted to hate Rose right from the start. But I just couldn’t. The part that clinched it for me was in “Charmed Again” when she’s telling Shane about being adopted and whatnot and he leans over to kiss her and she says, “Just don’t hurt me, okay?” Like, bam, bubbly to completely vulnerable in a second flat. I loved it, hee.
I love the past eps, too. My favorite ep ever is the one where they go back to the 70s. Because there’s Patty! And Grams! And teeny tiny Prue and Piper! 😉 Seriously, those girls are some of the cutest kids ever, hehe.

Well I’m glad that I could help. I know what you mean though, sometimes someone you don’t know that well can have some good insights to things you are going through. Maybe because you get a true outside opinion since they haven’t lived through it with you. I don’t know. You can realize there is nothing behind what they are saying. They are more honest, or at least they seem that way.
Serious: I wanted to hate Rose too. But she just did such a great job that I found it hard. I tried to fight liking her, really I did. But it just didn’t work. Like you said, when she asked Shane to not hurt her and then when I found out she wanted to be a social worker but let her heart get in the way sometimes… I realized Paige was definately one of the sisters and even if she didn’t realize it, she was preparing for a life of saving innocents and had the heart to do it.
That 70s episode is definately my fave “past” episode. I loved seeing the girls, who were TOTALLY cute, using their magic. Little Piper saying “No fair! You used magic!” to Prue was PRICELESS. As was Grams coming in and seeing a frozen Andy and saying something like “Oh poor Andy, they froze you again!” hehehe Poor Andy… I bet little Andy was glad when the sisters’ powers were bound…even if he didn’t realize what was going on! Hehe
I’ve seen every episode of Sliders. I started watching it with episode one and followed it through as it switched networks and stuff. Here’s the skinny on what happened. Fox (I believe) cancelled the show – no warning. Sci Fi picked it up but Sabrina had already made other plans so they had to write her off the show as best they could. So they had Wade kidnapped and taken to a breeder camp by the big bad, the Kromaggs. So that season was this whole thing where the Sliders were fighting the ‘Maggs on different worlds and trying to locate Wade. Well so the show goes on, right? Well the season ended and Sci Fi wasn’t sure if they wanted to renew it or not. They dillydallyed before making an official decision and so both the brothers made other plans and were not available when filming started for the new and final season of Sliders. Sooooo… the season opener shows the Sliders running to make a wormhole jump and they are under fire. So these 2 stand ins who really didn’t resemble in build or anything the brothers filled in and they are filmed entirely from the back. So they are running backwards and then the camera pans around so you follow the back of their heads as they jump into the wormhole. Then you see them in the wormhole and the two forms are hit by lightening or something. They come out of the wormhole and there is only Remmy and Maggie and no Mallery brothers. They find a guy in a river like I don’t know, 100 yards off, who is claiming to be the lead guy, Quinn. But he looks nothing like Quinn. Which starts off this story line that this crazy guy is compressing realities and mixing doubles. So that world’s Quinn and the “real” Quinn were collapsed into 1. Doesn’t really explain why he looked so different… but anyway. Quinn’s brother was made “unstuck” meaning he couldn’t stay in any reality so he too was lost. It was kind of cheesy. I mean, yay writers for coming up with something… but the whole way they filmed it was cheesy.
Hehehe… yeah my brother in law would probably come up with something better. He’s such a cornball and prankster. I shudder to think what he’d come up with though.

Serious: HAHA, that’s pretty funny about you and your friend. I’ve done that myself though. I always refer to actors/actresses as characters they play. Sabrina will probably be Wade to me forever. Though with Shannon, I never really thought of her as “brenda” which was good since she went on to be Prue. But she’ll probably always be Prue to me. I saw Holly in a movie and went “Hey honey, look! It’s Piper! Maybe she’ll freeze everyone and cheat at cards!” My husband laughed. I do get ticked at the management establishment. They make stupid choices like firing people who are doing a fine job or cancelling really great shows. I always get scared when I like a show. Usually that means a death sentance.
