Ever mention how much I hate MicroSHAFT? Bill Gates you are a JERKFACE. NEEEEEEENER.

So we get this awesome deal on a hard drive. So we are installing it in my desktop. Since it has the DVD burner. And it is becoming the community server/desktop now that I have the laptop for my primary working. Plus the fact that one of the hard drives was dying. But like, one thing we want to do is rip DVD to avi to shrink to put on DH’s handheld for when he travels. Also to rip movies to put in avi to be able to take on the laptop when journeying so we don’t have to travel with the DVDs. DVDs are expensive. I’d rather rip all of my rather expensive TV series DVDs than carry the big boxes… you know? I personally don’t care how shady this is, I bought the frelling DVDs I think this is well within my right.

So anyway, in goes the new hard drive. Format… wow that was fast considering it is an 80 gig. So then… toss in the XP Pro disc that is the same OS that was on that computer. So I think that this should also be legal. Same computer, just a new hard drive. Old hard drive to be reformatted or tossed… depending on its condition.

So anyway… I can’t load the frelling thing. Goes great until it asks for Product Key. Will not accept the product key. WTF??? Apparently it likes to check the system… and it spies and so if you change your system too much or you try to reload on a new hard drive it goes MWAHAHAHAHA I’m not going to allow that.

OK, I understand you don’t want someone to steal your megabucks OS. But come off it. There has to be some leeway. And the whole spy issue of you sending information to Microshaft I don’t care how innocent you claim it to be and not letting me load on a new system just because it is a new hard drive is BUNK. OK, XP is megabucks. And this is the same frelling computer. GRRR

So I’m searching the Microshaft site. Can’t find the number. Can’t find the number. Finally find a number for support that I think MIGHT work but I’m thinking it isn’t the one for the issue I am having. But get this. It is not toll free. WTF??? I have to pay megabucks for your shoddy OS. THEN when I upgrade a computer shoddy OS does not want to install/run. So I have to PAY you AGAIN for you to fix things? Aren’t you frelling rich enough Bill Gates????

So anyway, this is best we could come up with. Now it looks like we are calling MICROSHAFT.
