Still working on this issue.
I have now tried 7 product id keys. None work. Every last one “Product ID key not valid.” Not valid my arse.
So let’s see today alone, that hard drive has been reformatted 6 or 7 times. In one day.
Oh yeah, 80 gig hard drive is really 76 gigs in case anyone REALLY cared.
We’re on our second trial of trying to get the frelling thing to just copy over the i386 directory. First time we booted it up with a windows hard drive and copied over that way. But then we couldn’t get to a command prompt. At all. So then we try a win 98 boot disk. Well of course, duh, can’t see an NTFS formatted hard drive. So we try to make a so called XP boot disk. Just say no. This wouldn’t allow us to see ANYTHING. NOTHING. NADA. So husband has finally, while i was out tonight, partioned the drive (GRRR Didn’t want that) made the large partition ntfs. Left the other totally undone. Booted with 98 disk. Then formatted 10 gigs left over. And is now copying the very frelling slow and long way the i386 folder. *SIGH*
I’m sorry, why is this so hard? Because MicroSHAFT SUCKS. I think Bill Gates is a terrorist. I mean good golly. This is insane!
So for the last week instead of being all Christmasy and wrapping my presents and emailing pictures to my friend Larry Thomas (Still have bunches for ya dude) and helping elfmyst and baking cookies and stressing over a trip to freaking TN and you know, usual Christmas stuff. Not this frelling messing with a hard drive all day and night. GRRRRR
OK, at this point, no matter HOW weird it sounds? Throw out ideas. We’ll try anything!! HAHA Bill Gates you suck. BITE ME. BITE ME!!! I’ve tried to be a good girl and do this the legal way but you know what, it should NOT be this hard. IT SHOULD NOT BE THIS HARD. OK? Next version keep that in mind. I’m so tempted to figure out how to do everything I want on Linux. Then where you will be??? If I do I might just send you my cd and write on it “You Farking SUCK”

I *know*! What is up with that? My laptop’s 40 gigs but really 37.

I’m just thinking “four gigs?? That’s a lot of space to loose” of course I’m from the generation that remembers when thinks were still measured in k let alone megabytes. HAHAHA I remember when we bought our 180 megabyte hard drive and were like “No way we would fill this up.” Then right after marrying my husband we bought an 850 megabyte hard drive and we were like ‘Holy smokes, this is MASSIVE” Now we are up to 80 gigs… hehe so to lose four gigs seems like such a loss. HEHE
Well hopefully we will get this thing moving along because this is getting old… very insanely old.
