and no I’m not going today.
I’m not crazy.
I just wanted to get that out of the way. I know everyone is going to be posting their ‘OMG I went and it was sooo l33t” entries. Well I did not go. I’d have fallen asleep. I went to the second movie in the middle of the afternoon and STILL almost fell asleep. That fight scene was WAY TOO LONG, I’m sorry. After 100 years you know… it just gets BORING. “Oh look another arm just went flying off” “Oh another guy lost a head” “Oh another orc heart on a stick” blah blah blah.
Three and a half hours and not starting till midnight? No way. Very few movies I would do that for.
But all that aside… no way do I want to battle the geeks and freaks at the theatre. Now I’m not talking about the dressed up guys. They are cool. You know who I am talking about. The real freaks and geeks. The ones that change “GANDALF GANDALF GANDALF” every time Gandalf shows up. Or doing their “It’s Frodo” dance. Yo, Frodo is cool and all but he does not merit his own dance during a movie. I am short, I can’t see through your arse.
And jumping on your chair and shouting “BRAVO” is not cool. it is Ohio. No ONE that will matter will see you. Instead people will just mock you. It is a MOVIE.
Anyway, we also have to find child care because no way am I taking the kids to see it. So unless we go see it while in TN and can maybe con someone into babysitting for us… we probably won’t go till January. Let the freaks and geeks get their fill. Give us the no lines, normal people, and the NO DITCH SEATS. 🙂
(Like I said the term “Freaks and Geeks” does not in any way mean people who went last night, people who dress up to show their fandom, and other such rather normal and really cool things. It means the ones that make the cool fans looks like dorks. You know who I am talking about. And if you are one of said people.. you know who you are…)

I didn’t go last night either. And I probably won’t be going until Sunday by the earliest for an afternoon show when the old gang is all in Columbus.
I saw the first one at a midnight screening but only because of the unique situation. We had a private theater. It was the local SCA chapter, my campus’s medieval society, the school’s various tech support groups, the local geek community on IRC, and the local geek business run by CWRU students and alumn. And anyone we brought along. I had talked to at least 75% of the people at that showing and I’d seen almost all the rest. We all pretty much knew everyone or were at least a few degrees seperated. ’cause of that it was cool. 🙂
But the situation this year was different; if I’d gone to the show last night, it wasn’t going to be a full theater just for us. I didn’t feel it was worth it. Glad since I’m sick and all.

See that would be OK
All normal people. Not freaks and geeks and trolls and weirdos. HAHA
Good luck if you try to go Sunday
May I recommend a 10 AM showing if there is one? I’ve noticed that if you go when people are normally in church you tend to have a little easier time. 🙂

they did not do a showing last night, but with a 3 month old it would not matter (who would babysit!)
So what did hubby do? Bought tickets FOR THE FIRST SHOWING TONIGHT. Blaaargh. His aunt will babysit, which is fine. I just would have prefered to wait til Sunday for it to calm down some. I remember going to Episode 1 of starwars when it was released, and i was almost crushed.
Hubby is from Toronto, so he wants that big city feel (as opposed to the middle-of-the-isolated-arctic-abandoned feel). *sigh* Not like I’ll enjoy the movie anyway, the last two weeks the baby has taken to only liking being held by me or hubby… So i’m scared she is going to cry the whole time.
blaaargh.

Glad someone will sit for you. I’d do it. I just don’t want to go when it is packed and I have to deal with the freaks and geeks. I’d rather wait. Or go see Matrix while all the freaks and geeks are at LOTR! HAHAHA
I went to the first showing of Epi 4 when it was rereleased. Cool points yes… PITA DEFINATELY.
Hope the baby is OK! Go, enjoy the movie. Even if the baby cries they can’t reach you.. no cell phones! HEHE
ENJOY. I would like to see it, I just hate the crowds. I would rather wait. Then I won’t risk ditch seats either. (An hour and a half in line for seats… we had bought tickets for SW a week in advance… we still got ditch seats.)

Paladin was suposed to wait on me…
but the goof ball decided that he did not have to wait on me. So his friend went and bought him a ticket and now he is still in bed and it is like after 2pm. What a lazy bum. So I don’t want any spoilers but I am really wondering if it is any good. I guess I will just have to wait for and I will make her go with me in a month or so. LOL

Poor you.
Kolby went. He said it was great and that there was an hour of fightng that was awesome. Bleh.. an hour of fighting? Sounds like the perfect time to refill teh drink or go pee. HEHE That’s why I almost fell asleep during two. The fighting was great but then it wouldn’t end and it just got boring.

Oh that stinks. Well if you want to come here to the plush theatre, I’ll watch the kidlet! 🙂 It will still feel like sardines though!

I doubt I’m gonna go to that movie twice. Bad enough they are gonna rob me of 25 bucks or more for the DVD no way do I want to give them an extra 25 bucks to go to the movie more than once. Plus I really don’t know that i could sit through it at the theatre with that long fight scene more than once. HAHA
