We spent some time at MIL’s this morning but then we went over to Sir Megabyte’s older sister’s (Renee) place. Staying there was: younger brother, Jared; father, and step mother.
MIL came over for a bit as well. Also for a while was SIL’s husband’s parents and grandmother.
We ate a very early dinner/late lunch thingy. (Why do these people do this. I hate it. It throws my body all out of wack. And the kids too.)
We took a lot of pictures of everyone. Caramon, Joram, and their cousin. All the siblings. Spouses. With and without parents. Etc etc etc. It was the first time we’d all been together since Sir Megabyte and I got married nine years ago. We are scattered all over the US.
Mostly we just kind of hung out and talked. Jared tried to fix his laptop after upgrading to Windows XP. His drivers were frelled and his DVD player was not working or anything. What a nightmare. There was a lot of cards playing. We played a round or three of Nerts which is something SIL and her husband enjoys but I had never heard of. I like it a lot because you really have to think on your toes and be quick. But it can be chaotic and you have to concentrate a lot so it isn’t good to just shoot the breeze. While there I also burned some pictures CDs. Jared bought me some coloured CD-R’s in matching slims so I made four identical cds. All my digital pictures from December 2001-December 2003, including the pictures we had taken that afternoon. I had yellowy/orange, blue, green, and hot pink. So I took the four finished cds over and the only one not there was my MIL. Her fave colour was green. Well I said, “You guys fight over who gets what.” So after some “fighting” it was decided and I handed out the three cds and put the fourth in my laptop bag to give to MIL. BTW There were also purple ones, but that is my fave colour so I was selfish and horded them. HAHA.
Oh yeah, one thing that was neat was we watched Jared’s Alaska pictures in a slideshow in Renee’s DVD player. It was just a picture CD like what I made, and their player plays them like a slideshow. So we got to see a lot of beautiful mountains and countryside and a moose and some other stuff. He did give us a disc with them on it. Neat!
Last night we watched the first four episodes of Crest of the Stars. Sir Megabyte’s anime series I bought. Wow. Talk about really cool! I’m hooked!
