OK, I don’t know what to bring up for Enrichment. I’m supposed to bring one book to talk about. How do I choose just one? What genre do I choose? ARGH!

So here’s what I’ve grabbed and brought upstairs to possibly bring up. All stuff I’ve read in about the last year or so.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas
The Book of Fred
Catch Me If You Can
Legally Blonde
The Gates of Zion
Artemis Fowl
Murder Boogis with Elvis
The Chronicles of Pern: First Fall

Let’s see, Wicked is a political piece set in Oz. And it is from the point of view of the baddie. OOOH AHHHH. And no, this is NOT a children’s book. Not at all. So unless your child is a teenager, I would highly recommend them NOT reading this book.

Diary is actually a Patterson romance drama type book thing. He writes sad type romance books. No smut. Very sweet story. But mega tissue alert.

Fred is just a strait fiction that was fascinating. It was about a girl who’s parents were in a “cult” and she’s been put into social services and enters the “real world” and how that affects her and how the family she lives with affects her. You want an awesome look at the relationships of people, this is the book for you. It was awesome. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Catch Me now has a movie based on it that was OK but they embellished on a life that needed no embellishments. This is a true story of one of the world’s greatest con-artists. I mean think Pretender. Got it? Awesome read. And let me tell you, if you are nervous about biography type books, read this one. It will kill that nervousness. This was so wonderfully written.

Legally Blonde, the book that became a hit movie. And man, was it good! We read this for Book Club last year and wowsas. I loved it. But as you know I’m a nut for LB. This was actually not a biography, but the author kind of based it off her experience as a fashion major turned law student at Stanford.

Gates of Zion. Part of a massive series. It is about jews and the series is actually a set of three series. The first series is set in pre WW2 Europe. This book is the first in the second series which is in post WW2 Jerusalem. I haven’t gotten to the third series yet. I think it is after Isreal is made a nation. This book has it all. Romance, check. Intrigue, check. Mystery, check. Action, check. You name it, you want it, you like it? It is in here. šŸ™‚ And the series is massive but you blow through the books.

Artemis is a children’s series. If you like Harry you’ll love Artemis. Think Harry told from the naughty naughty slytherin side. WOOHOOO Artemis is a crime genious and he’s 12! He’s rich like Batman. And? He hooks it up with the fey, man. OK, so they have a love/hate relationship… tis OK, right?

Elvis: 2 grandmas in the south keep stumbling on dead bodies. How can you go wrong? HAHA! Funny, lightweight mysteries. so sad the author passed. No more to come. *SIGH*

Pern: Anne McCaffrey and awesome sci fi. Great for the person just dabbling in sci/fi fantasy. Great for the person who loves sci-fantasy. In fact that person has probably already read… I couldn’t decide on a sci fi book to take because they are all just so good… So I went with Pern. Can’t go wrong with a Pern novel! I meand… dude… dragons. šŸ™‚

There are so many other books that I picked up and put back. *SIGH* Plus there’s books I’d have loved to have brought up but unfortunately I don’t own them so I didn’t want to go and talk without having it in my hot little hands. C’est la vie.

I’m such a reading nut. I haven’t been reading as much because of the holidays and the tiredness, but I need to get back into it. You guys do not even WANT to know how long my book list is! HAHA. It is rather scary in fact. I believe I hit the 100 mark. Again. GRRR. I seriously will spend all summer reading if I can to try to knock that list down. Maybe I should get the books and start with the shortest and move up to the longest. HAHA

Speaking of books. I have 1 week to read The Secret Life of Bees. What page am I on? Well I just picked it up off my bookcase. So that’s soooo not good. EEEK. I forsee Lady Ozma spending all day Saturday locked in the bedroom reading. EEEK.

By the way, I got everything done but my dishes. I guess I’ll do them tonight when I get home from Enrichment.
