‘Twas a bit disorganized. But that is OK. We pulled it off. 🙂 Between the three packs (two schools and church) we had 27 kids! This was great. And apparently our track KICKED over what they have. The leaders were amazed and loved it! They were like “Wow, we want a track like this!” They have definately mentioned wanting to do something like this again because it was so successful! Excellent.
Laurel pretty much ran everything. That was nice since we were clueless. The track was long and fast, the boys had tons of fun, and everyone walked away with a prize. We had a bunch of trophies and certificates and ribbons. We gave a trophy to the slowest car as well. That was nice. Joram was actually in the running for that!
Caramon was up against Russell from the church pack. Well apparently it was REALLY close. But Russell won by a hair. Russell actually won 2nd place for the Church pack! WOOHOO. The boy who won first place for the Church pack was actually against the boy who won first for the other two packs. (Now we wouldn’t have split the group but Laurel had already bought trophies and they didn’t have our pack number on them. So she didn’t want to give them a trophy without having their pack number. We had two so that was fine.)
The boy who came in first, this is a really great story. He totally didn’t want to come. He didn’t think he’d do well and was not interested. In fact, he was going to quit scouting. His car was all falling apart too. The wheels were in bad shape and stuff. So he was taken over to The Pit and the leaders helped him fix his car. Then he took first place! If ever we wanted someone to get a big award, it was this kid. The funny thing was that Laurel nor I even knew. After the awards, the people who helped at the Pit came up and told us!!!! This kid was so excited. I think he was a younger scout too.
We have pictures. I’ll post them later.
Joram was up for slowest car, but didn’t make it. He got “Best Spider Car” they were going to give him “Best Decalled Car” but someone said that he was running around raving about his spiders so we changed it. Caramon did really well, but didn’t place. His certificate says “Best Dragon Car” There was another one with a dragon, but it wasn’t as nice. And half the dragon was hidden under stuff.
I missed most of it. I was at CopyMax getting our certificates made up.

Hey, you never know
I have to go make dinner now. I’ll try to look after dinner and see what I can do. 🙂 If anything, at least it will give me something to think about. I need to take a break from the other thing I’m trying to do since I can’t get it to work. I’ve been losing sleep over the frustration. HEHE
