I watched Riverworld today. I know, Sci Fi put it out ages ago and I am only now watching it? I wasn’t able to watch it when it was first on and have missed subsequent showings. I managed to catch yesterday’s on the DVR. Well I have one thought and one complaint. But first… it was a very interesting movie and if you like sci fi… go for it. Now the one complaint first. I have found no notice for a sequel but there was definately a conclusion. why the heck didn’t they make this a miniseries and continue it? *SIGH* I want to know what happens. GRRR.
Now the thought. So the whole thing is about people who died, they are reborn on this Riverworld place. So there’s this chic who’s from Africa around the 15th century or thereabouts. Yup you guessed it… slave. She died in the hold of a boat being dragged from her homeland to slavery in the white world. Well there’s another guy, a jew who died in a concentration camp. So the woman is saying something about slavery to the white man. And so this jew told her he was also enslaved by white men and put in a concentration camp. She looks at him and says “By your own people” Hmmm…. so she’s saying jewish people are just white on the white/black racial divide. Well given the controversy I heard last week about casting a “white” man as Jesus in Passion. “Jesus wasn’t white. He was a Jew.” Good point… but it boils down to he’s white. I mean some people are like tanner than others… but when it boils down to it… white. so once more… who is the man or what does the man look like? Who… he’s Christ… that’s what is important, not what he looks like.
Kids and I watched Agent Cody Banks tonight. The kids loved it. I have to say, one of the best things about having kids (aside from the snuggles, hugs, and kisses as well as cuteness galore)? Being able to get movies like that and laugh like a big huge dork at some of the craziest things and get away with it! This movie was all the things fun about what you would expect a teen spy movie to be. Cheesy? Five stars. Teen action? Pretty dang good. Even had a decent plot mixed with awesome comedy. Hehe…

It was a fun movie!
I loved when the handler came in the boys locker room. And when the CIA was doing the chores. So funny. A real humourous look at our favourite “government” organization! HAHA. “I work for the government” is always a big red flag that someone works for most likely the CIA. HEHE 🙂
Caramon now wants to be a CIA agent. I’ll have to introduce him to some once we move. HEHEHE
