I have now finished this book.

I highly recommend Dan Brown’s Angels & Demons, the first adventure of Robert Langdon of Da Vinci Code fame. Whew, this book takes you on a manic chase through the streets of Rome and into the depths of the Vatican in search of the answer to a mystery of today yet also a mystery centuries old. The famed Illuminati appear to have resurfaced and the Catholic Church is in dire straits. Just where the adventure ends and what the answers are remain to be seen.

Dan Brown’s amazing tale of peril, mystery, and mysticism hooked me from the back of the book. I must admit that after completing the book, I’m a little surprised at the outcome! This is definately not your typical story you can figure out in the first five minutes. The amount of research that Dan Brown conducted amazes me. I read his acknowledgements in the rear of the tome.

This book is a short 569 pages that fly by remarkably fast. If one is not overtired and falling asleep every time one opens it. I now have many more questions about the Masons and the Illuminati. I’ll have to dig out the history books and try to find some conspiracy theory sites. I know that much of the book is based on fact, such as the symbology and other things. But just as much is pure fiction created by a great imagination.

I love his theory on the Illuminati trail. That fascinated me to no end. The Illuminati is not a new invention, this group has been rumoured of for just about forever it seems like. Of course the existance of the Illuminati will most likely be a shrowded mystery much akin to Area 51 for some time to come. I definately enjoyed pretending with the author that their secrets were revealed and we could walk the path of the ancient Illuminati. If I ever make it to Rome I might just check out some of this stuff for kicks!! The truly scary thing though is that we may never know, but Dan Brown could have stumbled upon the great Illuminati answers! Wouldn’t that be a total riot?

This book had more twists and turns than the Minatour’s Labyrinth. Just about the time I thought I had figured something out, twist turn and warp… My golly. And I was definately not expecting the end. Not in the least. Not only was I not expecting the “whodunit” I was not expecting the even further twist of his parentage!! Hello? Shocker!!

This book definately had me on the edge of my seat. It only took me so long to read it because I denied myself the pleasure of hiding in my closet until the book was done. But i knew everytime i picked it up that I’d be reading till I was forced not to. It is one of THOSE books. Dang authors hooking us. GRRR.

Anyone who has read it… I’d LOVE to dish…
