Got inspired again. I wrapped up chapter five.
WOOT. Now… where to start with chapter six. HEHE…
I got REALLY brave and in a moment when very tired someone conned me into sending them this wanna be novel. What on earth was I thinking??? NO ONE has read it. But I sent her chapters 1-4 and she said she liked it. I wonder if she was just being polite? She did send me something of hers to read which I must say by the end of chapter one i decided she sucked because I was hooked and ready to go and she’s not done. Argh!! Evil writer people… haha hook you with a sample and then go MWAHAHAHA… I’m not done… MWAHAHAHA… Or worse “This is part of a series and so you are going to be strung along for YEARS!!”
Speaking of which…OMG… Left Behind comes out SOOOOON… scurrying to amazon to order my copy. Does anyone know if i preorder from amazon and order something else at the same time if I have to wait on the one item to ship with the preorder??? I need some new DVD +R since my stack I have appear to be fouled up or something. I’ve tried six of the 50 and all six are screwy. I’m not getting Platinum again. I think I’ll be going Memorex… I have had good luck with those!! But I need those before Left Behind…
Hmmm should I take a break in writing or go write chapter six??? I think chapter six will be a montage to get us through a few weeks… hehe

Well, I have to admit I don’t remember what it was about (you sent me only a chapter) but I didn’t think it was dorky. THe only thing I recall is that it had a female protaganist and it was fantasy genre.

whoops. Yes. Sci-fi.
I have done a bit of editing in my life (haha…too bad my own writing doesn’t show it) and would be happy to have a look at yours if you would like. As you know I am always looking for opinions on my drek as well.

how do you get over the fear of letting it out of your clutches though? I’m always like “People are going to say this blows. I’ll just keep it to myself” HAHA… and then the worry of someone stealing it. Of course then I say to myself, well it sucks and so they probably wouldnt’ want to steal it anyway! HAHA

Re: writer’s wierdness
This has been a very tough thing for me. As long as no one read it, there was still the freak chance that it was unbelievably good. That illusion would be shattered the first time I let someone read it. It really does feel like going naked, haha.
But, now I crave help with it…crave it like a crackhead because I have written the fool thing out to the end. Must revise or die.
At first I thought I would just keep it to myself and just consider the whole flippin’ thing therapy. Then my husband…bless his traitorous heart…started TELLING people it existed…oh, he got in so much trouble for that. I died a thousand deaths. Certain friends demanded it. I suppose I have gotten numb to the exposed, vulnerable feeling although it rears its head now and then. But the craving for feedback overwhelms the feeling of embarrassment, so there you have it.
So yeah…I totally know what you mean…

You are right… you can read it and think you have the greatest american novel or something.
So what are you going to do? Do you think you will try to have it published? If so will you make sure I can get a copy? 🙂 I try not to think about that intregal part of my process… haha…

I have no idea how to go about that. I suppose I am supposed to find an agent or something. I am clueless.
Haha, if it is ever published I would be happy to present you with a copy. What a dream! Try not to throw up on it.

Can I get it signed???
If I get this project to the point where it looks like it might be done, I’m hitting up my artist friend and kissing arse big time. Maybe he’ll even do the cover art… *SIGH*

let me know if/when you might like me to have a look at it. You can decide the level of brutality you are after in an editor, haha. J/k

Well let’s see if I can really stick to my guns and finish it… if it looks like I’m making headway… I might just pipe that sucker to you. I hate to send it out if I’m going to shelve it for another few years.. HAHA

Re: writer’s wierdness
how many chapters do you expect it to have? In other words, what percentage is 6 chapters?

Re: writer’s wierdness
I have absolutely no clue. All I can say is that I’ve got about 25/30 pages typed, single spaced. I just kind of write the chapters. They end when they end. So for all I know I could only have 30 chapters. Or I could be like in Angels and Demons and have like 100… haha

I noticed Dan Brown uses short chapters. So I take it you’re not the outlining type of girl?

Re: writer’s wierdness
Dan Brown does have short chapters. Reading his Angels and Demons these past two weeks has made me not feel so bad about my short chapters! HEHE.
Well I’m not really outliney for writing. Other than really basic gist. So I have written down on about five lines floating aroudn somewhere… but that’s about it. HAHA.
Depending on the chapter I might just sketch it out and then go back and fill it in with the details… but that’s about the closest I get.
