OK, I probably should have updated before today, or backdated, but I just don’t feel like it. So here goes…

Friday we did end up working! We took everything from the sewing corner and threw it in the middle of the floor. My mother began sorting while I took that orange cleaning stuff and a massive amount of paper towels and scrubbed. Picture this corner if you will… one cloth covered chair that turned out to not be white as I thought but black. Amazing what a lint brush can do to a cat hair infested chair! There is one of those computer cart type desks. And then there is this massive sewing table. It ends up being pretty long but you can hang the two sides down and so it is only like maybe eight inches wide. Well she of course had it open.

We did not complete this task. However I gave her a garbage bag and said “I want this full.” We also got a bag for donations to her guild. She found several projects she bought but does not want to finish so those are bagged up for guild. She found a project she began before Caramon got sick. That’s three years old!!!! What we have it down to is the what’s on the table (She’s using it to sort fabric/projects) and only one plastic tote left to go through!! She glared at me, but when I explained my reasoning she totally went with it… I told her she was only allowed to have two sewing projects out at a time. I told her “Look, this project? It’s three years old! And you couldn’t find it!” She agreed. So I told her we would bag up her other projects and put them in her fabric room. As she finishes projects, she can pull out a new one. But she’s infamous for starting something and then stopping part way through and starting a new one. Right now she’s got that I let her keep down there in already sorted… 3, yes 3 partially made quilts. See she’s got one she uses on the sofa when she’s cold. Why she doesn’t bind it (all it needs) is beyond me. But then instead of finishing that she decided to make Dad a quilt. Well then she got part way through that and found out her hair stylist was having a baby. So she put aside Dad’s to start that quilt. Then she got part way through that and found out that my cousin was getting married so she put that side with the others and started a qult for him. Well guess what? She actually did finish it by the wedding but has partially made shams. Which are sitting down there as well. And the baby? A year old. And dad’s quilt? Still not done.

So anyway, you get the picture… HAHA… But I will tell you she agreed with me. It gets too overwhelming when you have so many projects… especially because hers get rather large. So she pouted a bit but said she understood and she does want to finish her projects. Now she just tease-pouts with me. HEHE. She’s been very good natured.

Now here’s the biggest thing. Before? She couldn’t put her sewing machine on her cart because there was no where to move her serger to! And her serger was covered in a mountain of dust. Well I must admit I chastised her extensively on that. I remember being in middle school and watching her longingly stroke the sergers in the store and dream about getting one. I remember the day she finally got one (can’t tell you when it was but I was an upperclassman but I remember her coming home) and how happy she was. She treasured it. And now it is filthy with dust which since it is a sewing machine type thing… not good. I cleaned it up for her and I set up her little cart. Sure more stuff will go on it and all but it is getting so organized. I put her lamp and serger on the top shelf. Then on the main shelf I have her sewing machine. She can easily swap the two out now! I also put up her cartridges for her sewing machine. It’s one of those embroidery ones. So now she has those at her fingertips and she’s definately happy about being able to see that stuff easier! Underneath is where we are going to be putting her plastic bins. We’re still working on this as everything is not sorted. But I allowed her one larger one that can fit on the bottom shelf. It fits almost perfectly. This is for her larger crafting stuff. The shelf above it is going to be filled with shoebox sized bins and will hold an assortment of items. Oh and behind the lamp I put her iron since the lamp needed to sit away from the wall because of the shade. Well, she just loves it! It is so neat and organized and she can actually get to it and sew!!!

So we do need to finish up that last bit… but she did so well! The garbage bag is even almost full! We have a pile on the coffee table of stuff to go to the fabric room but I’m going to take that all at one time. It’s stacked neatly so that’s fine. It helps her see her progress which she is getting excited about!

Saturday we took all the trash we had collected in this massive venture of the family room last week… we put it in the back of their pickup to go to the dump. We filled the pickup! I mean it wasn’t overflowing, but the whole bed was covered! I looked at mom and I said “Holy cow, do you believe we really created all of that?” She chuckled and smiled and said “Wow.” Then she said “You know, I don’t know if it is running around more or all this cleaning, but I swear my pants are looser!” HEHE… hey maybe she’ll trim up some too 😉 I mean she has to be burning more calories than usual since she’s moving and not gaming!

She’s really into it and we love to watch Clean Sweep. In fact Saturday we watched something like four!! HAHA. She’s learning a lot from it and she’s starting to see some of the things she does like these people. I didn’t have to prod her for hardly anything on Friday. She was coming up with stuff and I’m like “Are you sure?” LOL She’s like ‘Yeah! Let’s do this right!” I’m so proud of her!

Oh, we decided since her family room is much more manageable now, what is left is tv watching sorting. The bulk of our next work will be the living room because she has so many farking knick knacks in there. And it is where my kids are staying. It’s just not a good duo. We purchased two bins today. We plan on wrapping them up and storing them in there. I’m hoping to convince mom to purge some. We had a discussion after a clean sweep this weekend. They had a person who had so many collectables and so they told her to get it down to x many that she really wanted to keep to display and to send the others off. In fact, they boxed the stuff up or her and mailed it to ebay and apparently ebay will do everything for you! We had no idea you could do that. So we tossed around the idea of possibly doing that because some of the stuff is really old. Something they keep sayng on CS is that just because someone gives you something or it is really old does not mean you have to keep it. You should skin it down to what you can truly enjoy. Keep that and get rid of the rest. Then you have what you want and love, but it doesn’t take over your life. I see her nodding during this. I think she’s seeing it. But I can’t remember the last time she was able to go into that living room and really enjoy the stuff. There’s so much crammed on all these little shelves that it is not even possible to dust! So they sit and cram against each other collecting dust until one falls at random and breaks three and then mum tears up. So we shall see what we can do. Especially since we have a great way to get rid of the stuff by possibly auctioning off. Make a little extra money, and know that it is probably going to a true collector since you reach a much larger audience than Good Will.

OK, enough CS rambling… on to other stuff…

Mum and I watched Pitch Black last week and have been playing Escape from Butcher Bay. Fun fun! Well Saturday morning we went and saw the Riddick movie. Excellent. Far better than Pitch Black. We loved it. Today we picked up the animated Riddick flick for ten bucks and will see what itis about. I like Riddick, fun character. Totally mouthy beyond mouthy and just totally a chaotic character. I love chaotic characters.

Sunday was Zebbie’s birthday, my friend Melanie’s oldest son. She took him to Chuck E Cheese’s and invited my boys. So we headed over there after Church. Normally I wouldn’t do that, but there are some people I make exceptions for. And Zebbie’s birthday is one one of those exceptions. 🙂 The kids all had fun. Took some pix that I need to take off my camera. I even did some Sepia ones. Melanie and I had a great time just talking and watching the boys run around!!

Today I tried out my Buffy game. Chaos Bleeds. It’s really hard to figure out the controller. So I need to find the Prima book. It’s not at EB Games, we tried while out. Darn. But I’m enjoying it. I really like alternating characters. The strait one person mode, you actually do alternate characters. The first level I guess is in The Magic Box. And you go through parts where you are Buffy then Willow then Xander and then Spike and back to Buffy. That is fun. So you apparently don’t even spend the entire game as one character, though that could be fun, too. You alterante. So that will keep you on your toes and liven things up. Not sure how multiplayer goes. I might have to get mum in here since she loves Buffy. 🙂 HEHE.

OK, so that’s about it really. Probably could expound more, but this is already really long!! HA!
