So yesterday we ran a bunch of errands and the like but we didn’t do much around the house. We did take all the stuff we’d gathered to a thrift store. While there get this! 2 bikes, perfect size for the boys! Only 2.50 for the both! Well we were going to attempt to locate their bikes in the unit, but geeze, this rocked! Plus this way they have bikes at grandma’s too once we move out. Hey, not a bad deal. For not even three bucks? Why not. We need to buy soe new tires but hey, that’s fine.
We did decide to have a ladies night out. Called up Caroline and the three of us did a double feature. I wasn’t real into it since the second movie was Riddick, but you know, Riddick is so good I didn’t mind seeing it again so soon! Plus it was fun. We went to Day After Tomorrow first. Now I don’t know what people’s beef with this movie is. Good effects, fairly possibly plausable maybe kinda story line, and great eco message. Not only that, but great humour too! We were enjoying this movie. Except we had one of those freaks in the movie who starts off cantankerous. The movie was no where near starting and the guy was hollaring for people to shut up and “you aren’t at home”. And then when we all were laughing during the movie we would see him turn and glare. Twice he got up and left the theatre and I don’t know if he said something but before he came back one of the employees would walk down the theatre aisle. My gosh… why do people feel the need to ruin things? But man, when Mexico closed the borders and Americans were crossing the Rio? That was just classic. The whole theatre erupted in laughter (and Mr Jerk turned and glared and muttered).
My dad is off on Fridays. He only works four days a week. Of course this week he is also off on Monday. So we figured we wouldn’t be able to do a whole lot of cleaning till Tuesday. But he went to bed tonight and so my mum went to do dishes and decided she wanted to junk all her aging plastic stuff. Probably good since she nukes it and there’s a TON of it and I swear it is the same stuff she had when I lived here growing up! I got into it and the next thing I knew we had taken care of her glasses cabinet and her dishes cabinet. So that’s two of the cupboards above the counters done! Yay!!
Two garbage bags are full and we have more stuff to take to a thrift store! Yay!! Mum seems to really be into this whole cleaning up thing now. I mean she just looked up and said “I should get rid of this stuff, it is so old and melty” and boom, next thing I knew… we’d cleaned out! π
Oh yesterday we dropped into a furniture store. Just window shopping, you know? She found a bed she loved. Don’t know if she’s going to get that suit or not. We still have this issue with the fact they need a lot of drawer space or something because of having no closet. I still like the idea of his and her dressers. But what can we get that is large enough for all their clothes without being gigantic and making their room feel cramped? Hmmm. And also not cost a fortune and a half. Next we definately need to look into window stuff for keeping the light out. I think I want to try to find some excellent blinds for them. I’m thinking that plus curtains will hopefully do the trick.
Tonight we watched Timeline. The book was definately better. But the movie was OK. They didn’t really get into that whole multiverse thing, but eh…
