I have gmail. How fun! 🙂 I got an invite code late last night and voile… now I have gmail. Coulda used it a couple weeks ago when changing over my email address… ROFL. Oh well. I’ll play with it and see if I like it better than Yahoo. if so I’ll do an official change of email to my contacts. We shall see. Web based mail is web based mail I suppose. But I already like some of the features of Gmail.
I love the whole organizing conversations part. That’s neat. Looks pretty spiffy and all. The star thing is intriguing but I’m not sure what I would star. *Shrug* I must say though, I love their whole humour. The Google team definately have fun. I of course had to click everything because well, that’s the type of geek I am.
So I click on my trash and it actually says, “No conversations in the trash. Who needs to delete when you have 1000 MB of storage?!” Too funny. I then sent an email to my yahoo address so I could play and I deleted that and it went into the trash. Then I was able to select to really delete it… that function? “Delete forever” SNICKER. Oh and the spam folder? It says, “Hooray, no spam here!” How soon before people try spamming gmailers though? Barf I hate spam. All spammers must be publically flogged.
Anyway just had to share. 🙂 I of course have almost no email there since no one knows it but hey, it’s still fun! 🙂 I showed my mum and she just patted me on the head and wandered off muttering something about her geek daughter. Le Sigh. Everyone knows I’m an uncontrollable geek. *SIGH*

Though I’m crazy enough to switch to using it exclusively… bwahahaha… But hey.. tis fun. We’ll have to swap gmails next time we see each other on IM. 🙂 We can at least play with it and email each other! 🙂
I’m thinking about switching all of my message groups to the gmail.. see how fast I can fill it up 😉

So how is it going having made the official switch to gmail? I’m more and more going to it. I’m fighting the urge to delete my emails though. I hate not having folders. LOL Very different way to email.

God, that urge is strong! Eventually it died, though. Probably because archiving takes one click and moving to the trash takes three… The degree of my laziness frightens me sometimes… I still, however, feel uncomfortable not filing my e-mail. I mean, you should see my computer’s hard-drive some time. I’m filing obsessed.
In any case, though, I’ll figure I’ll eventually get used to it all. I just wish more people would e-mail me… *pouts*

I’ll email you as soon as I get a chance. 🙂 I didn’t feel real well last night otherwise I’d have probably done it then. I’ve got a to do list a mile long right now and am only on long enough to see if I had any LJ messages! LOL.
I’m very filing obsessed. Yes my computer cleanliness is much akin to my real life cleanliness. I’m just B.O. and that’s all there is to it, I suppose!
Of course the other thing I’m having trouble with is the actual keeping of email. I haven’t deleted hardly anything. (I mean I AM supposed to be testing this thing… I need to save my emails I suppose.) I generally delete everything. If I keep it, it goes in an appropriate folder such as recipies or photos or bills or whatever. But I generally have filters set up to put all my x list emails in x folder and y list emails in y folder and LJ emails into a LJ folder and TextAmerica emails in a TA folder and so on and so forth. I like to be able to just go in and read only X emails or Y emails or whatever. Better use of time too.

LOL… I sort everything. It is my nature. I’m a freak of nature I think. No one can be as organized as I am and not be a freak of nature.
Sorry, B.O. is a term I picked up from Fly Lady. It means “Born Organized.” And I think I am. Most people quit her list because they are overwhelmed and can’t keep up. I quit her list because she was too bloody slow. I didn’t think she did enough!! LOL.

I heard such great things about it and how the cleaning system was top notch. I suppose it is. Would help out those like my mum. But I just don’t think she did enough. She’d take a whole week for one room. I do one room in one day. LOL.
I did like some of her lingo. Like “Hotspot” for those spots that seem to collect clutter. And B.O. for Born Organized. And my fave… CHAOS! Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome.
