OK, get this… here’s what we pulled out of a path about a foot wide in my mother’s spare room. This is the fabric room. I kid you not, this is from maybe a foot wide and eight foot long…
2 totes, 4 large plastic boxes, 1 laundry basket, a bread machine box, a small box. In addition to that, I pulled out a sewing machine to donate and an entire trash bag of disgusting shoes. I mean gross. Apparently one broke and melted or something onto all of the others. GROSS! And all these shoes were worn to within an inch of their lives. So that went strait to the trash. Oh and there was a LARGE bag of peanuts. Like garbage bag sized!!
What’s going back in? 1 tote. That’s it. There’s still a paper grocery bag and a very small box that mum hasn’t gone through yet. She says she knows what most of it is but her back is hurting so she will double check them tomorrow. But I’m thinking… that’s not bad!
Over by the fireplace is where I am putting the stuff to go to charity. It’s about as full as it was before i moved in. AmVets come on Wed so we will put it out then for them! So we only have to live with it there for a couple of days. In there is also a lot of bags of books she has picked out to get rid of. I think she’s going to meet my goal for her books. If not, she’s going to be VERY close. I keep having her find more and more books. So that’s good.
Oh and we found out that the VBS this week? They want kids books for a mission in Haiti. So after Amvets on Wed we are going to finally go through kids books. All that we are giving away are going to VBS! YAY!!
Go mum… she’s really working hard!!
The reason we were doing the spare room today is that we knew it was stuff where anything going we could send to AmVets. Also we needed to clear out to the closet because this weekend Sir Megabyte is supposed to finish the wiring he started last weekend. He couldn’t get into there and that’s where everyone decided the patch panel will go. He’s putting in a fully customizable, professional system for them. So they wanted somewhere in the main part of the house and that was the only place anyone could think of. There’s just simply no room in the washroom, which is where the electric box is.
Mum doesn’t want any of her collectables going to them for some reason. I don’t know why. So that’s why we haven’t done any more work in the living room. When we started back up we knew the AmVets were coming so we wanted to focus on stuff for them.
Oh of intrest… the spare room is supposed to be the sewing room. We found a pill bottle from 1997, my mum’s puzzle ring (boy did I rant on her over that), and get this…

Yes a book on a Dell 486. Gosh, wonder what that was for? I don’t remember my parents EVER buying a Dell. At least not till Dad bought the super computer!!

Um maybe your dad has been secretly going to hamfests and he pulled that out of the trash. I know we own similar manuals that arrived without the computers they are for in fil’s basement. It is usually via ham fests and Tau going but someone must save this for all of man kind. He is a clutter bug.

LOL, I’d say you are probably right
but dad is very anti social. LOL More than likely he just never got rid of the stuff. He was always taking in computers from various sources and buying computers and building computers and upgrading computers and etc. The only thing is he never got rid of anything.
Kind of like us and the tote of spare parts. Um… do we really NEED four 56k modems? Not really… but we probably have them in a box! HAHA
Yeah I’m surrounded by clutter bugs. It is very hard to live with. I’m such a neat person by nature.

For a while we had a large box of 16 bit sound cards. Back before the fancy sound card boom when it was still hip just to own a sound card. They were rejects from a place where Tau worked. Anyways anytime people would come to our house we would make them take a sound card home with them. It was that bad.
Our garage was empty. Now it is full of stuff Tau has pulled out of a specific company’s dumpster. It looks worse than the day we moved in.

LOL… we had stuff like that in our garage! The worst thing was the giganticly large box of fancy telephones and this telephone system. Can’t remember the name of it now but it was something like firefox or something. Anyway apparently it’s mega bucks and all that. Sir M thought, “Gee we can set ourselves up a professional system and be all cool.”
Only problem? The phones didn’t work. He was “going to fix them, someday.” Um… I don’t think so.
I think he just wanted to be like his Uncle Kenny who did the same thing, only his phones weren’t broke. So he had a professional system and then would confuse the heck out of people because he’d be like “Oh you want my daughter? Please hold.” ANd then he’d put people on hold and ring her room and tell her to pick up line blahdeblah. People were constantly hanging up thinking he had hung up on them! LOL.
Uncle Kenny works for his local phone company. HEHE Sir Megabyte and Uncle Kenny love to talk shop. It’s rather annoying.
But I finally managed to get Sir M to part with that box. As well as a bunch of other stuff. Yay!!!
