I guess it is good that I highly respect and admire mhovely. Wow… I don’t feel worthy of a twin that great! She’s definately the better half! π

Not hardly, twin!
But if I had to choose someone I don’t think I could choose anyone better than you! π
BTW My husband is a putz. He loves to sing and is obsessed with ward choir. Well I found out the DC Mormon Choir is auditioning so I raced to tell him and he is all like doing the modest thing and refuses to call! He’s like “Well I can’t read music or anything and so I’d probably bomb.” ARGH!!!! He’s a great singer. I mean we’ve had people banging down our door and hauling him out to sing in things… thought you’d get a kick out of it though with the whole Art being in the Tab… I’m sure at some point he had to audition. Maybe he is so cool he didn’t stress out… π I dunno… But I know on Sunday I was actually thinking about you and him in just that situation… “Wonder what M and A did…” LOL

oh man oh man, he did have to audition, and it was so stressful. but he decided he would just do it for the experience, and then when they told him no he would ask what to work on. haha he got in first time. btw there are quite a few who try multiple times.
I think your hub. should go for it! Tell him I said so!

You know what, I’m going to go tell him you said so! I’m gonna say Mhovely says go try out. Her husband is in the MoTab. She knows what she is talking about!
He has a great voice. He’s a tenor and he’s never had a day of training but he’s awesome. See I’ve had tons of training and I just don’t have the gift. I can sing, but I have to be able to warm up my voice and I have to be familiar with the music. DH can just pick up a piece and sing it. Of course he learned to play songs on the guitar by ear.
I don’t know how important reading music is. But I think he should go for it. *SIGH* He’s even written a couple of songs. One he sung for a talent show at church somewhere and someone told him to submit it but he never did because he doesn’t know how to transcribe it into notes.
Here’s the website… maybe it is more than he could do but I think he should go for it. At least he could learn what he can do to improve his singing. Oh and he can read music. Somewhat. He can conduct and he can sit down and play sheet music on the piano. But I don’t think he knows “Ok that’s a C and so it is THIS sound”

I think he should definitely try out! Tell him to just do it for the audition experience. What can it hurt? So what if it might take a couple of tries till he knows the system? And maybe it won’t.
What’s his range? Tenor?

He’s a tenor. Think the band Chicago and you got him. π
I told him to go for it. He rolled his eyes at me. He doesn’t think he can sing well but my golly, I am thankfully every sunday that I sit by him. Except the weeks he’s griping they aren’t playing to the right tempo. LOL He’s got great projection. For someone with absolutely no training, I think he’s awesome! I mean seriously, how often does a chance like this come by?
UGH!!

high tenors are usually in great demand. It sounds like he has an excellent shot at it. I DEMAND he try out!!!! do I need to come wave my wand over him with my compulsion spell?

Yes you do!!! π
Really? I’m going to tell him that high tenors are in demand. Maybe he’ll go. Personally I think he just doesn’t want to go to McLean. But I so think it would be worth it. (McLean is I dunno, near where he works anyway.)
I really think he should use this opportunity now. I’m kind of mad he isn’t!!

is it a done deal? I mean, has he decided he won’t do it for sure?

I don’t know, I’ll work on him this weekend while we are in the car going to NJ. I really think he should ring them up and find out if he can audition.
*SIGH* He does have a good voice. It seems such a shame he is wasting that skill. He hasn’t even asked about ward choir here. He’s not going inactive or anything but he is becoming kind of antisocial. He just wants to go to church and cut right out… not sure what his deal is. I think he’s stressed over the whole move thing.
