A friend came over yesterday and we went out. I got a new pair of knitting needles. Big fat ones. I’ve never used big fat needles before. It makes the knitting very loose, which goes along with this wacky yarn I found. I knitted up a wonderful scarf. It’s so soft and cool looking. Of course, now I need some new yarn. HA! I found one small skein in my mum’s sewing room, but what can I knit up with a skein? I’ll have to think about that one. I found some other yarn as well that I might make another scarf with. I wanted to knit up a few things to show someone at Church for ideas possibly. I’ve got some ideas tumbling around in my head for future projects.
Today I’ve just been hanging out. I watched Sweet November which was not what I thought it was but it was a good movie. Now I’m watching A Cinderella Story which is fun. 🙂
At least I got this cool scarf made up! 🙂 Yay!

Whats the name of the new (and old) yarn? I learned how to knit, but didn’t really get the hang of it all that well. Plus I’ve just got so much else going on that I can’t get into any one thing as much as I’d like to. But we have this HUGE (and growing) yarn department in the store. It’s crazy!
You could make a child size scarf with the one skein probably? Or get a coordinating one and make stripes for a full size scarf?

The yarn
I used for the scarf I already made was called Boucle by Lion The colour was Popsicle and looks like this:
I found a skein of Lion brand Jiffy. The colour is Denver and looks like this:
The other skein is just cheap regular yarn “Sage” but looks a little sea foam like… 🙂

You know how to knit and you have not taught me 😦 I need to learn to knit. I know how to crochet. Is there any good makes that make it simple for a dumby like me?
I look at those books and they just baffle me.
I sit and crochet when I am annoyed or overly stressed. I think I may get some yarn to make another blanket. I am not sure what I will do with it. I already have too many blankies. Maybe I could donate them to a shelter or something.

I didn’t know!
TOtally easy. 🙂 I’ll have to teach ya. It’s super super easy. Crocheting is hard. ANd you know how easy that is! 🙂
You should donate to a shelter. It’s getting on to winter, they could use it. Or you could take it down to the hospital and ask that it be given to children in the PICU or the babies in the NICU. Or the Heme/Onc ward for the people there. They always need more blankets.
I’ll see if there’s some really easy direction I can find for you. Otherwise, if you guys come to balticon bring stuff.. haha.
I’d say get some nice soft yarn and big fat needles and try with that. Scarves are super easy and almost impossible to mess up. Good way to learn. Casting on is really the hardest part for me, after that it’s easy. You can just knit until you get the hang of it before tryin Purl. Purl is just upside down knit stitch. And that’s the two stitches.. HAHA
I know the directions can be very confusing. Of course I knit left handed so reading the instructions is doubly difficult for me because i have to reverse everything.
When we were newlyweds, Sir M wanted to learn to knit (we were bored, poor, and had no tv… haha) so I sat him in front of me and showed him what to do. He had it in no time. 🙂
