OK, I’m trying to follow this challenge by the Stake Relief Society to read the entire D&C by our stake RS day in April. I am of course a little behind. Story of my life. Anyway, they also wanted to have a collection of verses that somehow spoke to the sisters.

So I’ve been reading. Trying to figure out what one to put down for mine. So I’ve decided perhaps I should make a collection and then contemplate on those. Because there’s just too many to pick only one at the drop of a hat.

Am I thinking about this too much?

Most likely.

hmmm.

Well anyway, this one struck me this week:

In me he shall have glory, and not of himself, whether in weakness or in strength, whether in bonds or free;
–D&C 24:11

It’s to Oliver Cowdrey and he’s being told that if he’s good and faithful and the Lord will give him strength and glory and he will be able to do the things that are needed. I especially liked the “in weakness” and “in bonds” part. Sometimes we go through really difficult times… and we seem to muster the strength we need to make it through. I firmly believe that’s a gift from God. The strength to make it through.

Another one that struck me this week:

Behold, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou art an elect lady, whom I have called.
–D&C 25:3

This is talking to Emma. How I’d love for the Lord to call me an elect lady. I do not feel worthy of it though. But how I strive to be considering this…

I’m about 10 sections behind right now. Because I started late and then I was reading by chapters and not by pages. Because I was reading not in my scriptures which I have dug out… EEEK. I’m at the start of section 29. Thought I’d be OK. I’m only page 49 and apparently I’m supposed to be on page 63. That’s the start of section 38. Thank goodness for short chapters. Hopefully I can catch up some more? Oh well, I’m not drastically behind. It’s not like I’m supposed to be in section 100… yet… πŸ™‚ Plenty of time before April! I guess the good thing is I can study at my own rate. As long as I finish in time. Some days I can read more if I want. I’m already way ahead of Sunday School, obviously. Since we just started the D&C study at the new year. And it’s an entire year! HEHE.
