Audible has a sale going on right now. Five audiobooks for 45 dollars. Wow. Or 10 books for 80. Or the killer deal, 15 books for 99 bucks. Talk about great summer deal for all that summer traveling. Good move to them.
I’ve been using audible mostly to get books for my husband for his commute. He tears through the books in no time because of how long his commute is. I’ve been reading some of my books on my shelf instead of listening to the audiobooks. But now that I’ve read about six books, I think it’s time for another audiobook. I’m trying to go through what we’ve gotten to decide what to listen to. Maybe Snow Crash? State of Fear? Those are the two I’m voting for right now I believe.
I read PS I Love You and The Wedding the last week. Both great books. The Wedding is the follow up to The Notebook. Sweet story. PS I Love You was excellent and I recommend it. It’s long but fast. It’s a great story about moving on. It also strikes close to home. The main character loses her husband and the story goes through the rest of the year after her husband passes. Apparently he left her a list of tasks to do and they help her through her grief. Very poignant. Makes me long for book group so I could discuss it.
In other book ramblings, just something that made me giggle… Last night at Enrichment the theme was cooking with your food storage. Always a good thing to go to but also scary when you start contemplating all those hundreds of pounds of wheat and dry milk and stuff. The woman giving the presentation also talked about how you store all of that stuff, because let’s face it, storing a gazillion pounds of wheat? Not easy. So the lady was talking about how on your bookshelves behind your paperbacks there’s tons of room so you can stash canned goods back there and no one knows. I was like “Oh honey you don’t have enough books!” Hehehe… Amazing, how did she actually manage to get enough shelves for her books? Another gal was like “My shelves are double stacked!” I think we don’t need to discuss food storage but her lack of books!!! π OK, that aside, it is a good idea. If you aren’t double and triple stacked… π
