It’s Tuesday so that’s New DVDs on the market day! WOOT. My calendar dinged because it was time for the third, and final, season of Roswell to hit the streets, for me to go buy it, and to begin the Summer 2005 Roswellathon! Wouldn’t you know it, I find out today that the release was pushed out to August! Ugh! And I just bought season 2 with my Best Buy Bucks to prepare for the Roswellathon! I could have bought the second season of Dark Angel and had an DAathon! Oh well, all in good time.
Yes I know you don’t need an entire series to do a marathon. It’s just more fun that way! (I’d actually planned to purchase Dark Angel later after the Roswellathon had passed and have my Dark Angelathon then.)
However, a nice little surprise I was NOT expecting. Somehow this one slipped right through me! THat’s what I get for not checking out tv shows I like from a decade ago on TVTome! ROFL. But I sear, I hadn’t seen news of this anywhere it should have been that I frequent such as sci fi.com and the like…
LOIS AND CLARK SEASON 1!! I’d checked like a year ago and the word on the street was ‘yeah… right… not” I can only guess that with the insane hit of Desperate Housewives causing Terri Hatcher to break the Superman curse (thank goodness) combined with the popularity of Smallville, the death of Christopher Reeves, AND the upcoming release of the new Superman movie next year SOMEONE grew a brain and said “What the hey, let’s release this show.”
And about frigging time. I love Lois and Clark. Shut up, I’m a superman nerd. I foresee me putting on my supergirl outfit (which I coincidentally almost wore today but chose to wear jeans for the book group discussion of “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”) and having a Lois and Clark a thon with season 1! No word yet on Season 2 darnit. But I must have it! Best of all it was on a deal at my Best Buy! They had it marked down, as they sometimes do for things in their debut week. But because I’m a Rewards Zone member it had EXTRA markdown! I LIKE that! Hello my precious Superman geekdom.
Anyone know why that wedding season was so goofy with the wedding continually postponed? I DO! They coincided the TV wedding with the comic book wedding. 🙂 So they had to keep kind of pushing it out… 🙂 Just thought I’d share. People cite that as annoying. Well there was a REASON. Get the comics you DORKS.
Wooooooot. Superman at my fingertips! BTW I LIKED Dean Cain as Supes. I think he was hot. Then again I thought Chris Reeves was hot as well. I guess i have a thing for men in blue tights? It’s probably the alien thing. I have a thing for aliens. I also thought Spock was hot. 🙂 (I know what that was about. He had pointed ears. Pointed ears are sexy.)
There’s some special pilot thing special on this disc. Guess what I’m watching FIRST! 🙂

Rosewellathon marathon sounds cool
I am usually too broke to buy the season whatever DVD’s, but it sounds like a cool idea. I’ve actually been wondering if Blockbuster has them–lol. I still haven’t seen all of Taken and since I lost Showtime I missed the last season of Dead Like Me

I’m sure that Blockbuster has them. I know netflix gets all that stuff. If it’s on DVD then it’s a fair safe assumption unless it’s really limited market or freaky that they’ve got it through Netflix. I’ve seen seasons of 24 and stuff at Blockbuster. I haven’t been IN a blockbuster in ages as I got frustrated with them and switched to Netflix like two years ago. But anyway, having seen 24 in one back then? Go for it. 🙂 It’s not going to hurt you to go try to go there!
I have that reward zone card so I get money back on my spending. I make my mum use my reward zone card as well so I’m constantly getting coupons. What I normally do is I buy the movie that week coming out that I want for like 15 bucks. If I know a season I really want is coming out I’ll save up money to buy it. When I get those best buck coupons I use those for things like the seasons. I got season 2 of Roswell for free that way, and I chose to get it because of Season 3 coming out. LOL. Oh well. 🙂 I’ve also noticed if you watch it, you can get stuff for a bargain the first week it comes out at Best Buy. It’s all in working the system baby! 🙂
If we were close enough, I’d loan you… I’ve really gotten some deals on seasons so I have bunches. 🙂 I’ve got all of 24 for instance. HEHE THat was probably my best deal ever. But I’ve snagged stuff where they were 15 bucks for a season and things like that. Awesome!
BTW DLM was awesome. I’m not sure when it is coming out on DVD. I can’t believe it was cancelled. *POUT* You’ll have to get it somehow and watch it when it comes out. And Taken… WOW… awesome. You GOTTA get that to see!

I know!
It was the only show I watched when I was in college. Sunday night’s I’d be tuned in to Lois and Clark. It would barely come in but it was the best channel I could get. I had so much tin foil on my tv rabbit ears trying to increase reception. My dorm was all brick and I was up in the top floor with just these two gables in my room so our reception was almost nill. ROFL.
I love Lois and Clark, but I’m a big superman freak. You know, Dean Cain has said all along he’d don the tights again? They’d been trying to get someone to play Superman for next year’s movie for several years before they got this dude playing him? No one wanted to play Supes. But never did they ask Dean. In fact someone asked him what he thought of it and he said all it would take was someone asking him and they’d have their superman. He enjoyed the role.
Stupid Hollywood. I bet people were scared off by the curse. LOL Though I do believe Terri Hatcher broke it, I really do.
I think they didn’t want Dean Cain though because Lois and Clark wasn’t “popular”. (I put that in quotes because I know plenty of people who loved it but it didn’t do well in those twisted crappy ratings game. That and it was a hard time in the Superman world. Lois found out about Clark/Superman and they got married. That really was happening in the comic book as well, but a lot of the older fans who weren’t reading the comics anymore just thought that was aweful.)

DLM is coming out July 19th. I am also somewhat pissed that it was cancelled. It was so good, I almost kept SHO just to have it, but decided it wasn’t worth the cost as I wasn’t watching the movies for the most part.
As far as bargain shopping, I guess I just don’t go to the stores often enough to see what is on sale. lol Easier to not spend money I don’t have if I am not in the store, 😉 and I can’t stand the Best Buy here. Lousy service and too far to go to on a regular basis.

I’m mad at Showtime as well. I only kept Showtime because of their Sci Friday. Guess what, they are gone. They decided to move away from that? Fine. Good bye. Stargate? Gone, moved to sci fi because Showtime dumped it. Odyssey 5? Dumped. Outer Limits? See Stargate. DLM? See Odyssey 5. Jeremiah, see Odyssey 5 and DLM. Now what is it? Some crazy shrink? Other garbage? Forget it. And if they ask why I don’t want Showtime when I start my satelite back up? I’ll tell them. “Because Showtime sucks and got rid of my sci-fi programming.” I don’t think I’ll get any movie channels. Why bother? I never watch the movies on them. Oh well, save me whatever that is a month. 🙂
I read the adverts when I get them. I’m a DVD freak though… I think I need a 12 step program. ROFL.
I hear ya on Blockbuster. I really hate them. When they moved to that one day only rental thing I was like ‘Forget you.” I went home that day and signed up for Netflix. Haven’t been back to Blockbuster since.
