You know what I hate about easterly facing windows on bedrooms? The let in too much light. Easterly facing windows should come with REAL shutters. Ones that work so you can close them up at night. To make matters worse, because of that dumb time change, it’s light an hour earlier I don’t want it to be light an hour earlier! Who wants it to be light at what SHOULD be zero dark 30? No thank you. But with an easterly facing window, it doesn’t matter because even in winter that sun is coming right in your window and waking you up too early. Mine is real bad because where the sun comes in mine is right dead center. Yup so right through the break in the curtain. Which won’t stay closed due to the vent being there.
This is compounded by the fact that I can’t seem to fall asleep. Last night and the night before have been some of my worst nights. 3/4 AM and I’m still awake. It’s not that I’m not tired. I was EXHAUSTED last night. I came back to my room, got into bed and was like “Ahhhh, time to sleep.” I could barely keep my eyes open. And then? Nothing. Sleep just wouldn’t come.
So tired now. And people wonder why I don’t like mornings? Because I’m TIRED! But man that sun goes down and I’m wide awake! LOL. I went to a book group last night and several of the gals were like “8 PM is too late to meet, I’m in bed by 10.” I couldn’t imagine being in bed at 10! LOL, that’s a lot of wasted time I could be reading or cleaning or something. (I was asking if we could move to 8 or 8:30 like my last book group because it’s easier to be somewhere at 8. Sir Megabyte doesn’t get home until like 7:30, plus it’s just easier if I can get the kids at least started for bed. That’s why we chose to meet so late in Ohio, so we could get the kids squared away. It just seemed to work so much better for the kids and the husbands.)
I wish I knew what caused non sleeping. I mean you’d THINK that if you are tired you go to bed and you fall asleep. Why isn’t it that simple? I really do wonder if we’ll ever understand that dynamic. It’s probably some really fascinating chemical imbalance in your brain. I know I’m a dork, but I really do wonder what causes it. Hmmm… maybe someday we’ll REALLY understand it. Could be cool. I know a lot of people who would also like to know… π
Oh well, at least today I am not all headachey like yesterday. (I’m sure the tiredness will cause a headache later though. I’ve got IB on the standby as always.)

Well, I prefer eastern facing for my bedroom; though I like to sleep in, I often need to get up and that helps. What I hate is being on the sunset; your room gets bright and roasted and never cools down during the night. At least that’s the way it was when I lived in the dorms and I accidentally picked a sunset side without thinking. Never did that again.
Dawn is pretty rough if you’re camping at Pennsic in a tent and there isn’t any shade around!
Wouldn’t it be better if mornings came later in the day? You know, like 2 in the afternoon?

ROFL..
See my room gets roasting in the morning. Before 7 AM you are dying from the heat and wanting to strip and worship your fan in pagan naked dances for more wind power. Not a pretty sight for ANYONE, I don’t care who you think you are.
And it stays hot. All freaking day. All evening. At 1 AM it is maybe starting to get OK… but 4 AM you finally fall asleep because it’s comfortable. Just in time for the sun to rise again and start the whole entire process over.
I like the 2 in the afternoon idea. π
And I disagree with your quote. There are morning people and there are non-morning people. The latter move west or request the night shift or just don’t work. π
When I lived out west, I actually did Ok in the mornings. I’ve decided I’m an East Coast girl on a West Coast clock. π

Re: ROFL..
You aren’t in the right pagan circles. π Surely there are naked pagans somewhere. They must be southern pagans. Could explain why the southern baptists are the most scared of the pagans and their naked ceremonies of dancing? Seems plausable.
–No naked dancing pagans or Southern Baptists were harmed in the writing of this response. This commenter highly respects both naked dancing pagans as well as Southern Baptists.
