We’ve stopped for the night in a hotel. We left this morning at 8. It’s slow going because of constant stopping for gas and bathrooms and food. Of course nothing ever wants to come at the same time… HA! That’s traveling for you! Part of the fun!!
The day has not been without incident however. You’d think sitting in a car there’d be not a whole lot to tell. Well you’d be wrong. At one rest area Joram fell getting out of the van and now the poor kid has a goosegg on his head! Poor guy! He seems none the worse for wear at this point, even if he does have a big ol’ bump!
Then a little later we blew out a tire so had to pull over. Of course no one wanted to let us over. Ever wonder what people are thinking? Apparently it was obvious because a mercedes pulled up next to us to tell us we were flat. On the bright note, the Kia has a full sized spare! Oh yeah also has a first aid kit. I’m liking Kia right now! So we swapped out the tire. We attempted to find a store to fix our tire. You’d think this would be easy, but apparently not. we have had the hardest time!! We finally found a place but they didn’t have a tire of the right size. We will try the walmart we finally located in the morning.
Also, I blew a fuse in my ac adapter so there was no laptop for movies to keep anyone entertained! Darn it! Oh well. We have game boys and a slew of books and little radios and an ipod and toys and paper… plenty to do.
Other than these incidents, the trip hasn’t been too bad. Thank goodness! We’ll see how tomorrow goes! We’ll be in Mississippi tomorow evening and I’m READY! I am so excited to see my grandma! The boys are beyond excited!
I’m also really tired. I can’t believe how tired I am! I think I might just turn in for the night. *YAWN* I think it is that road weary… you’d think you would not be tired but you are. I did have a bit of motion sickness going on today so blah. I didn’t sleep a lot last night so that’s probably part of it as well.
Night all.
