Ok, so this week I’ve been trying to do the whole Christmas shopping thing. Get things finished up, get things while kids were in school, buy stuff for the school angel tree for the PTA… etc etc. Of course lovely lovely… two days off of school due to inclement weather And of course several days doing school stuff there so limiting my time kid-free. Time to pull hair out because only one week left? Yuppers! WOOHOO!
SO what are my kids getting? Goodness if I know. I’ve just been in the “throw it in the cart if it looks good” mode due to little time. THey’ve got all the little stocking stuffer fun of marbles and pencils and baloon rocket doohickeys… I got them spiderman and batman swag. And after that? No clue. At some point I’ll go and wrap them and go “I bought this?” ROFL… Don’t you love the insanity of Christmas shopping? *GRINS*
Oh yuck. Wrapping gifts… AUGHHH! First up… I plan to stuff these stockings for the angel tree. I have 12 walmart bags full of toys for these stockings. I need to get the candy and other stuff the other woman purchased. I think I need bigger stockings… HAHA
RIght now I’m trying to organize all of our games. I’ve got the kiddie games all on one side. I’m stacking them all up nice and neat. Shut up, yes I”m a freak! We have a LOT of games! Of course a lot of them you cannot play with only two people. You know how that goes. THey may say two players is fine but it’s definately better with more players. Soon though the kids will be big enough for some of these games! I have some of the regular games everyone has. Monopoly, Cranium, etc etc. Right now I’m opening up my Scattergories I picked up on sale while at my mother’s house. I love Scattergories! I’m kind of thinking of making a “cool kid” stack though of all my alternative games. The Castle, San Juan, Time Control, things of this nature. Now that I have a bunch of the “regular” games, I have been attempting to pick up the more obscure games to fill out my game collection. You know, geek games. Games you can’t find in your local Hell-Mart or Toys R Us. you have to go into… *GASP* Comic book stores or the like to find. Mwahahahaha. But these games are fun! The best thing about these games is a lot of times? You can actually get them and they say how long they take to play! So none of this you start a game *Ie Risk* and find out three days later how eternal it is!
Gaming is fun. We love to play games. We are trying to set up a family gaming night. Next pick for the kids is for them to play Cadoo by Cranium. However, we want to also set up a gaming night with friends. Just a handful of friends, everyone bring snacks, and we have loads of fun playing games! I need to set up a gaming day for during the holidays. We’d love to do this monthly. I have no problem hosting since we’ve got all these games!! 🙂
I can’t believe I haven’t picked up any games for Christmas. There was just nothing at the local stores that I wanted and I haven’t YET found a good gaming store in this town. Blah on this town! OK, I’m almost done with my game organizing. This is very important because the remaining room on this particular set of shelving will hold food storage. (Very long shelves.) I need to get this set up as my cabinets upstairs are overflowing!!!
Sir Megabyte is out shopping. He needed to buy me Christmas gifts. He’s got Caramon. I’m home with a sickie Joram. Poor guy!
Tonight I do not know what we are doing. But maybe I can challenge Sir Megabyte to play San Juan with me. That could be fun! I think he just wants to play World of Warcraft though. It’s all he wants to do. There’s some Christmasy stuf going on in the game… Hmmm…
Back to the grind!
