Flashmobs. You’ve seen them on the internet. People going about their shopping when all of a sudden someone starts dancing or singing.  That one turns into five which turns into twenty and before you know it, there’s a mob of people joining in.

Who wouldn’t want to be involved in something like that? But how do you find out about one and join in?

First you need a group of people willing to participate in a flashmob. For instance, let’s say you know roughly 250 LDS (Mormon) teenagers preparing for a huge dance festival? That might be a good place to start.

Then you need someplace willing to let you come in and be a little crazy.  Check out your local mall.  I chose Spotsy Towne Center in historic Fredericksburg, VA.

The next thing you know, there’s a flashmob in the works. Tweet the press and away you go.  (Hey, it got me quoted in this article!)

At least, that’s how I did it.  And boy was it fun!

My entire 2012 has been nothing but this Dance Festival, or so it would seem. From promotions to costuming to helping with the dancing, this has been my year. And why I’ve been a little vacant on the blog. It’s been nonstop working for me for months!

And it will all pay off next week as the BIG EVENT finally happens.

With my extensive dance and costuming background, it was like this event was made specifically for me, even if it’s really aimed at the youth. I say: Meh, you’re only as old as you feel! And these teens make me feel young!

For now, I’ll just enjoy the fact that in some way, I was part of a flashmob. Hopefully next time, I’ll get to dance!

Note: If you would like a ticket to this amazing event, they are free.
