Right as I was finishing my last entry, Sir Megabyte came in and sent me to the Home Depot in search of tools for the Pinewood Derby. Yipee. It is Saturday and the boys still haven’t made their cars. EEEK.

So 180 bucks later (thank goodness… we had 2 gift cards so we didn’t actually spend that much) we are now the proud owners of 1 Dremel Tool (Sir Megabyte’s only been lusting after one for how many years??), 1 coping saw, 1 regular saw (whatever those are called), 1 sander, 2 cans of paint, paint brushes and paint bowls, extra sandpaper, a piece of wood for another project, an apron for Joram, 2 safety goggles for the boys, and um, I believe that’s it! Sounds like it should be enough! HEHE. However Sir Megabyte now realizes that since I allowed him to buy stuff he must now actually work on our home for projects. Mwahahahaha. I’m such a MEAN wife. Oooooh Honey-Do list!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA.

Well the boys plotted out what they wanted their cars to look like. That took forever and lots of web searching in order to find just the right design. Now Joram, his design was fairly easy and we even found a template on the web we were able to print out. How great is that? Caramon however wanted a Formula 1 car. So we printed out a picture and Designer Daddy went to work trying to figure out how on earth he was going to be able to get this to work with that small block of wood. Caramon sat over his shoulder telling him “No you drew that too big” or “I want that more like blahdeblah” and the like. But finally the two men were able to agree on a pattern and so it was banishment to the basement with all the gear and time to cut stuff out.

I had to go down and reset up our basement now that it has been bleached clean and so the TV is up and running with the old crummy VCR that works about 1/2 the time. So they men have movies playing and they are busy with power tools. Which means the boys sit around handing Daddy what they need and Daddy is cutting wood.

The cars are mostly cut out now. Mostly. Caramon’s needs some more detail work and the tapering done. Joram’s just needs the sanding done. Once that is done we can get to the painting. EEEK. Thank goodness we got a random newspaper delivery yesterday! HAHA

So anyway, while they were doing that I went back to my coding project. With any luck, I will have this project done. I really should be doing something “useful” like reading my book club book or doing dishes. However I feel this has a great use and so “NEENER”. It is frustrating and distracting me and so I would rather work on it! HAHA.

So away I work. And as a starving programmer enmeshed in a particularly delightful project, I lost all of track of time so I just called for delivery. Forget cooking. That would 1. entail more dishes for me to find time to wash and 2. take away time working on aformentioned puzzle and 3. Pizza is brain food for geeks. Just ask any of us. Of course thankfully, unlike most geeks I’m not starving as I have my Sugar Daddy Sir Megabyte to buy my Pizza Brain Food.

Here’s hoping that the pizza inspires my brain and that the time not worrying about dishes piling up even higher and away cooking will prove beneficial to this project. We can but only hope!!!

Hmmm, do need to update my website journal but baaaah. I will do that later. And should work on a prototype of Nishagami but once more… later. This project is driving me NUTS. (A good nuts)
