Well you were robbed! I feel like it often. Especially when I have a hankering for x food so we go out and the place is cram packed because everyone is taking mum out. DH’s birthday is in March so all he usually has to worry about is attempting seafood if his birthday is on a Friday (Lent) He doesn’t understand.
To make it worse? That is also the weekend for “Military Wife Appreciation” GRRR Three in one… GRRR.
Before we had kids he’d take me out and people would be like “Where are the kids?” “We don’t have any?” “Well why are you out for Mother’s Day then?” GRRRR… it is my BIRTHDAY you jerk AND shouldn’t Mother’s Day be about WOMEN????? I mean some of us women have NO kids but are wonderful neighbourhood moms. And I know at church they give out flowers and all you gotta be to qualify is female and 18 or older. THey don’t care if you are an 89 year old old maid. You still get a flower. So GRRRR.
Anyway, I know so much how you feel. It SUX. So rant all you want. I’m sure in a couple of months I’m gonna have mega rant. My husband won’t be here. And I’ll feel dumb going out with the kids. ROFL. But five bucks says I’m going out. And I’ll go where I bloody well want to. It might be the farking Mongolian Grill or something… who knows. Maybe I’ll find some Thai place. Something I don’t usually get because hubster is the world’s most picky eater. *RANT RANT RANT*
I would type the end rant command… but… well… I don’t know if you got it out of your system. If not… /rant some more. HEHE

Oh! the Mongolian Grill sounds fabulous, we have a Mongolian restaurant here that I’ve always wanted to try as well.
I hope you enjoy your bday when it comes, even though you’ll be sharing it with all those mothers. 😉 I can understand how it detracts from your day. We al l need to feel special for at least one darn day out of the year.

I do so get it hun. I still say you need to figure out what to do. I mean if you have to have dinner where he chooses… fine, spend the rest of the day doing whatever you want. I mean, don’t let your day be ruined by dinner. And think of it this way… dinner is so short. At least you don’t spend the whole day hearing how wonderful mothers are. Hello, someone want to say hi to me? *SIGH* My birthday was Mothers Day last year. Soooo. I was cranky. But I ended up not being as cranky because a friend came out to visit. 🙂 HEHE
This year I think I’ll go out on my birthday with the boys. We won’t have to wait for DH to get home or anything… so it will be easier. I think it is on Tuesday this year? So hopefully no one will be out. 🙂

Yes, but the thing is we usually all go out for supper for the whole evening, so really, the whole day is done.
This year there was a party for us out at their place. I’m still recovering I think. I’ve never felt so bummed after a bd.

No way, spend the day before dinner. It isn’t like you go to dinner at 9 AM. So go and get a manicure or a pedicure or something just for VC. Watch a movie you want to see… even if it is just an old fave… Use all that time before dinner! 🙂 I mean even if you leave at 4 for this dinner… you have all that time before then. Heck just lock yourself in the bathroom with bath salts or something soaking in the tub.
So what’s your plan for next year? Now I’m intrigued!
