Just sent jeckasue an email. We’ve got four complete chapters so far! Woot! Our main characters have met and scheduled their first date. Bwahahaha… need to figure out something embarrassing for our heroine to do…. hehe and need to wrack my brains to 10 years ago when hubby and I had our first date… haha…
We have managed to work in a few bits of inside jokes for us. Shizam and pillow fights and stuff. Now, how to work in pants? *INNOCENT LOOK* I know that no one else will get it, but it is kind of fun to drop these little treasures… Of course my husband will get the pillow fight… that’s our thing that I shared with Jeckasue.
Anyway I did make a file for all four chapters to be together. Page break at the end of each chapter. It’s nice and orderly. So here’s the stats total:
Unnamed Romance book with Jeckasue
Chapters: 4
Pages: 21
Font: Arial 12
Words: 8971
Too tired to get the Fleish Kincaid reading crap and stuff. Anyway, go Jecka! Go me! Yay us! I pretty much wrote chapter 3 and she pretty much wrote chapter four. We both added and cleaned up each other’s work… but anyway. You know, this has been rather fun so far working with a partner. And even more fun is being able to chat about it. And brainstorm with each other! I dont’ really talk to anyone about my other novel as it is all mine. And by the way no work has been done on it as of where I’m at. I decided to shelve it until I move and things settle down. I figure maybe around July I’ll try to start working on that. But I need to move. And then after I move I need to work on arranging us in mum’s house and cleaning her house. So I’ll be busy. I’ll have to see what I can work in and how things will work in her house as far as writing goes. How to work in time for that and if I’ll have to go work in a coffee shop or library or if I will work at home.
When I wrote chapter 3 of this novel, I sat on my deck, enjoying gorgeous weather and my rocking camp chair along with my trees and creek. I’ll have to find a good spot for peace like that.
OK off to bed. Morning comes too soon and I’m mostly asleep already!

There’s loads that can go wrong on a first date. I don’t know the story but you could play with irony and have her (if you want her to be the one) do embarassing things the guy usually does.
Or…
If at a movie he’s shy and doesn’t hold her hand. Finally, she goes to grab his but he’s moving and she hits the soda or the popcorn spilling it over both of them. This would also probably lead to the guy thinking he was to blame – and thinking she was just trying to take some and not hold hands.
Um… if he drives… maybe after the date she has accidentally dropped her keys in his car and only realizes this as he’s driving off and she runs down the street trying to catch him? That could be funny… Of course it would be weird for the guy not to walk her to the door and make sure got in… Maybe she forgot something else she needs?
And sorry if none of these are compatible with the characters or the story. I’ve been sitting in a literature class for an hour and half this morning and I’m itching to be creative instead of having to read more “classic” literature!

Hey those are great ideas… of course most don’t work only because our two people are on a cruise and going to dinner. I might work on that dumping soda thing… *SNICKERS*
Does make me remember my first date with hubby. We watched a movie and he was so embarrassed to hold my hand… hehe there was this pillow between us (it was just in a commons room of a dorm and not at a theatre) he put his hand under the pillow and snuck it over to my hand and so we held hands under the pillow… bwahahha… dorky first date stuff… *SNICKERS*
Anyway, am now thinking of ideas π

Ah… a cruise… She could accidentally knock herself or him overboard? π
I thought of the hand thing cause… On my first date with Monica, I spent most of the movie wondering if I should make a move to hold her hand. At times she seemed to be putting her hands in a position so I could but I wasn’t sure. Once or twice I was going to go for it but she shifted at that moment and I waited, heh. I guess I should have earlier because the moment I did, she responded and took my hand tightly and cuddled up next to me. ^_^

So apparently this hand thing happens often? OK, that’s it… it is going IN. I just gotta figure out how to work it in. Will work good the hesitation… they are both divorcees. π Neither went on the cruise looking for “that someone” but they end up finding each other. (Cause that’s just how it works… just when you aren’t looking BOOM)
