OK… major ramble.
After getting back from dropping the kids off, mum still wasn’t ready. I made her go through some books in her room. Ok we formed one bag for keep and one bag for go. Great. Only a bazillion more to go. She needs to get rid of more as she just does not have room for all her books. I think she needs to get brutal. I told her she should share some of these books. She agrees so she really did work hard. I’m proud of her. Just hope she does as well on second go through. 🙂 The thing I really don’t get though is her TV Guides. She refuses to get rid of them unless we ebay them. Erm, they are TV Guides? I mean they aren’t even all collector ones.
We need to set up her Ebay seller account and get things moving.
We then loaded the bag we had plus the bag she did last night into the truck with everything else. We headed to the thrift store. They didn’t look happy we were bringing stuff. They said they are too ful. But they took stuff. So we’ll be going to another next. Of course next week Amvets are coming so we will put stuff together for them.
After that, we went to this store for some stuff for Grandpa’s bed and his walker and his cane.
This morning we got rang by the Kenmore woman. She wanted me to fix some curtains. Sounded easy enough so I told her we’d stop in around 11 or so to check them out. Well we got there and started looking at them and she walked in. OK, these things are from like 1970. They are heavy. They are filthy. They are scary. They are ugly. Most of all? They are dry rotting!! Which is the whole problem. Ok, I understand her pain. With renovations on the house and grounds, no money for some crappy meeting room in a side house to replace curtains. We tried to come up with ideas to fix these things but I swear it would be easier to just make new ones and then we don’t have to wear scary masks and jazz. I don’t know… mum and I were very disurbed.
So after picking up the kids, we went to lunch and I ended up calling Caroline, she’s president of the stitchery group. She was also deeply disturbed. We’re thinking of if we can find a good deal… making some basic nice muslin curtains as a “gift” to Kenmore. I mean to NOT touch these nasty curtains again, I’m willing to shell out 25 or 30 bucks to put towards a New Curtain Fund. So is mum. Now, so is Caroline. This is going to be interesting.
Then it was time for Target. We needed anther under the bed box for under the sofa. We needed some detergent for grandpa’s clothes. We needed some other stuff. While there we saw a spiderman sprinkler. Mum picked it up. And Agent Cody Banks 2. WOOHOO.
We stopped at the pharmacy and the dry cleaners and came home. Nancy was in town visiting her mom across the street. I had told her she could look for some clothes in my storage unit. So she’d left us a message so I went over, got her, and we headed to the unit. We got in and about 10 minutes later it started POURING. Poured for over an hour. So we took our time going through clothes. So long two boxes of clothes! The rest will be gone soon enough anyway. But she took a lot for her baby who’s almost a year. That’s good. Plenty still for step-sister-in-law. I threw one box away as it was old and ugly and well, just didn’t want it. The other is a tote and I brought it home. Now I have something to dump stuff in for mum to sort through!!! WOOHOO.
She has offered to give me some photography stuff to “pay” me but I don’t care. I’m excited about the swap though. She’s getting rid of a lot trying to convert to digital. And she says now that she’s been taking pictures for eight years, she doesn’t need her books so much anymore. So it will help me get a good start. How sweet! She’s going to try to be up in two weeks and if so she’s going to bring stuff then. Otherwise she’s going to mail me stuff. I told her to just when she could. She gave me some lighting tips, too. So I’ll have to figure out how to try to do some of those. One was to make a light disk. Not sure I can. Will have to do RESEARCH.
OK, in other news… Sir M was grumpy over the bike. I don’t feel like getting into it now though.

I told him to a few days ago and he got even grumpier. “You’re the one with an attitude. I don’t do anything!” he said and flounced off.
