Gaming on the Big Screen

Ok, now I’m totally drooling and wishing I could drive out there.

I find it interesting that Utah is the first place to embrace this. Just sounds to me something that would be done in CA or Washington first… you guys are snoozing out there on the coast!!

In other gaming geeky news, Sir Megabyte got up and glared at his computer. I don’t blame him. I mean this is insane. So get this, he stopped it, rebooted and then restarted the patch. WHOOOOOSH. He was ready to go in ten minutes or something insanely fast. Now i understand he didn’t redownload anything he’d gotten over night, but still!

So he went through the character creation, wow that was COOOL. He started off in a hallway and he could “shop” for his character type. He finally decided to play a Satyr. That was fascinating to watch. I’ll definately try to get a screen cappy to post. He’s kind of fair of skin with reddish fur. He has two long, fairly strait horns. He decided to play a Scout. Now he’s running around checking things out.

From where I sit on the sofa, the graphics are beautiful. He has an audience of four. Two kids, mum, and me. Undaunted he continues to go forth and explore!

I’ll definately be posting more. I’m so happy for him getting to play his game!!! Oooh he’s shooting arrows at something and that’s really nice animation.

I’m wondering if I can play CoH again yet. I kept lagging out. 😦 I’m not sure why. I think it is lagging out. At any rate I got some kind of map disabled or something like that and then I can’t do anything. Only choice is to quit and re-enter. I played fine for 2 hours last night so I know this is something with today and not my desktop. I may try my laptop. Though I loaded it first on here and I couldn’t see my character so I don’t think that is going to work.

It isn’t like I can’t play xbox in our room or play The Sims or something if I wanted to. Right now I’m enjoying catching up on journals and watching Sir Megabyte play his game.

I want to make a dragon and take to the open skies… that’s just me… I know, probably every fantasy gamer dork like me does that right off, but hey, I’m a gaming lemming… I love Dragons. Dragons rule. Oh dangit, I just realized Anne’s gonna be at DragonCon and I have NO clue where my firelizard is in storage. GRRRRRRR. 😦 Now I’m upset… I’d love to have my Golden on my shoulder when I met Anne. Waaaah!

Oh, speaking since it kind of just goes right along. Mum is wrapping up the boys costumes now. I put her serger up for her. (I think she likes having me around to move her machines around!! HEHE I’m glad to help though, especially for little boy joy!) Since she will most likely finish this today, she’s going to try to make me a new costume as well! We found some lovely teal velvety type fabric in her stash. So we picked up a bargain pattern and she’s going to whip me up something. This will give me two, plus my old court dress which is also in storage somewhere. But the court dress is a tad bit tight. I can wear it, but I need help zipping it up the back. I figure that the fact I can still wear the thing says a lot. I have gotten a lot plumper since having kids, but hey, this costume was made for me at 15/16 so I guess I’ve not changed all THAT much… Though we did make it with a little room to grow since I was so young. I wear it near about every halloween.

OK, now I hope we have time to make Sir Megabyte an outfit. He says we don’t have to but I’d love to whip it out for him at the con and go “here ya go!” We can all match then! HEHE. Of course, this would be a good move since we’d LOVE to go to Pennsic and you have to go in costume. Oooh the MD Ren Fest is coming up as well I think… we could all go in costume to that. That is more fun in costume even if it is more showy than realistic.

OK… would it be bad of me to want to recreate my super hero costume to wear? Bwahahahaha… It’s rather revealing as those things tend to be… so yeah, probably not going to happen. LOL. That’s fine, I much prefer mideaval dress anyway. Now, if I end up wearing it to game in, you know I have totally lost all sanity!
