I’m sitting here reading MSNBC for kicks. Shut up, I like the news! For me, it really is for kicks!
Anyway, some of the headlines that got to me.
Thirty states could outlaw abortion within a year of Roe V Wade being overturned. I hope Roe V Wade isn’t overturned. It’s not that I support abortion, but I do think there are some cases where it is OK. It is more I don’t want to go back to the world where women were losing their lives trying home abortions and filthy backstreet abortions and the like. It just isn’t right. I wouldn’t be against stricter laws and outlawing the partial birth abortions which I think are way wrong and there is absolutely no call for them at all.
Caffeine Addiction real. It says that between 80-90% of american adults drink caffeine daily. One cup of coffee a day is enough to addict you. And withdrawel sucks. I’m so glad I gave it up. Of course it did wonky things to me that didn’t jive with normal people which is why I gave it up.
Alcohol linked to 75k US Deaths a year. It says that excessive alcohol consumption is the third leading cause of preventable death in the US. The other two are tobacco use and poor eating/excercise habits. And they cite excessive drink as any man who averaged more than two drinks per day or more than four drinks per occasion to be an excessive drinker. For women it was more than one drink per day or more than three drinks per occasion. Interesting.
New research shows that one puff of a cigarette can damage your DNA, the first step to cancer and heart disease. Sheesh. THat’s scary.
Ok, I’ve been saying this one for years. There’s a whole article about where to place the blame for the rise in ADHD. Here’s a quote from the article. “Healy says overstimulation from rapid scene changes and other programming tactics may throw off the balance of the body’s catecholamine system, which is responsible for carrying communications between nerves.” See Caramon and Joram could never get into Sesame Street or anything other than pretty much Blue Clues because of the rapid scene changes. They’d get bored and walk away. They liked things that followed a story line. Caramon couldn’t watch Sesame Street but he’d be perfectly fine if we took him to the movies with us!! People say that they have to do the rapid scene changes so that kids will stick around since they have no attention span. I’ve been saying for ages that it is the rapid scene changes that are training our children to have no attention span!! Interesting! Of course I also read another article saying that caffeine/coffee intake while pregnant is also proving a possible catalyst.
I suppose that’s enough for now. Time to do something new… HEHE

Caffeine
Well I can tell you one thing for sure, that study applies to Canadians to, I am sure of It!!! I see so many people IN the run of a day totally hoped up on caffeine and wanting MORE, GIVE US MORE!!!!
Seriously, these people are freaks who by any other standard would be considered addicts, however since It Is so widely accepted, nothing done about It.
I have seen people act worse because there Is a delay In their coffee-getting than I have while someone was on drugs, or drinking for that matter!
People just get all weirded out, and go through major withdrawal, even though It’s RIGHT THERE. I am telling you, the caffeine thing Is worse than anything I have ever seen. SOOOO glad I don’t drink the stuff, It Is terribly over rated!!

The overturning of Roe V Wade wouldn’t make abortion illegal, Ozma, it would simply turn it back over to the states – like Gay marriage – it would be a states issue.

Re: Caffeine
I hear you. Caffeine is a drug, and addiction can be bad for some people. However because it is so accepted, no one does anything about it. And let’s face it, unlike smoking, most people aren’t annoyed by another’s coffee.
I don’t get it. I mean even when I did drink Coke, I never went psycho for it. But OMG you should see some of the people I know. I mean you don’t go NEAR them until they have had their morning cup of coffee. You are likely to lose an important body part if you do! It’s a drink. And frankly? It smells like crap. I know I’m just sensitive to it, but the smell actually turns my stomache. I can’t even stand to walk into a Starbucks. I love going for my steamers, but I try to hit a drive through if i can just so I don’t have to go in. *SHUDDER*

I didn’t say that overturning RvW
would make it illegal, I said:
“Thirty states could outlaw abortion within a year of Roe V Wade being overturned. ”
The way these states are, they not only can but look likely to outlaw abortion. They just can’t do anything with RvW. Hence the “Thirty states COULD…”
