I’m sitting here reading MSNBC for kicks. Shut up, I like the news! For me, it really is for kicks!

Anyway, some of the headlines that got to me.

Thirty states could outlaw abortion within a year of Roe V Wade being overturned. I hope Roe V Wade isn’t overturned. It’s not that I support abortion, but I do think there are some cases where it is OK. It is more I don’t want to go back to the world where women were losing their lives trying home abortions and filthy backstreet abortions and the like. It just isn’t right. I wouldn’t be against stricter laws and outlawing the partial birth abortions which I think are way wrong and there is absolutely no call for them at all.

Caffeine Addiction real. It says that between 80-90% of american adults drink caffeine daily. One cup of coffee a day is enough to addict you. And withdrawel sucks. I’m so glad I gave it up. Of course it did wonky things to me that didn’t jive with normal people which is why I gave it up.

Alcohol linked to 75k US Deaths a year. It says that excessive alcohol consumption is the third leading cause of preventable death in the US. The other two are tobacco use and poor eating/excercise habits. And they cite excessive drink as any man who averaged more than two drinks per day or more than four drinks per occasion to be an excessive drinker. For women it was more than one drink per day or more than three drinks per occasion. Interesting.

New research shows that one puff of a cigarette can damage your DNA, the first step to cancer and heart disease. Sheesh. THat’s scary.

Ok, I’ve been saying this one for years. There’s a whole article about where to place the blame for the rise in ADHD. Here’s a quote from the article. “Healy says overstimulation from rapid scene changes and other programming tactics may throw off the balance of the body’s catecholamine system, which is responsible for carrying communications between nerves.” See Caramon and Joram could never get into Sesame Street or anything other than pretty much Blue Clues because of the rapid scene changes. They’d get bored and walk away. They liked things that followed a story line. Caramon couldn’t watch Sesame Street but he’d be perfectly fine if we took him to the movies with us!! People say that they have to do the rapid scene changes so that kids will stick around since they have no attention span. I’ve been saying for ages that it is the rapid scene changes that are training our children to have no attention span!! Interesting! Of course I also read another article saying that caffeine/coffee intake while pregnant is also proving a possible catalyst.

I suppose that’s enough for now. Time to do something new… HEHE
