Only one more week until the election and I can’t be happier. I cannot wait for this to all be over. I’m so sick of people who are whining about things they do not understand. I’m so sick of the lying and the attempts to scare us. This election has disgusted me to no end. I thought the last election got dirty, it has nothing on this one. Neither side is showing our nation in a good light. If this is what we have to look forward to in the future, I’m not so sure how I feel about living in a free country anymore. People say the world hates us because of this and that. I say the world hates us because we are a bunch of whiney brats who haven’t learned how to better handle ourselves than three year olds. So busy pointing the finger and crying about how the other person is horrible.
I don’t mind the people who have good reasons for voting for one person or the other. That’s fine. But it seems that the majority of people are voting one way for the completely wrong reasons and do not understand the world at large. Do not understand history, economics, and a thousand other things. THey just want to, like both candidates, cast blame. Even if blame is not due.
So I can’t wait for things to just be done with. One way or the other. I’m sure what happens will be in the Lord’s plan. But it doesn’t make it any less frustrating.
Yesterday in Church our Relief Society (the women’s organization) president read a letter that was sent us by some group she did not name. It was totally non partisan and what have you. But it asked that at 9PM Eastern evern night that people just pray. Pray for our nation, the upcoming election, and for the Lord’s will to be done. That’s it. And to think about the power of prayer and how many people were praying the same thing at the same time. They asked for it to just be that, not that a candidate in particular win or for a particular thing in Iraq or anywhere else… just for our nation and the upcoming election. I think this is a good thing and I’m going to try to participate. And then on Tuesday I’m going to go cast my vote, watch the returns, and see what happens.
Hopefully though, next Tuesday all the hate and BS will start to come to an end. If this kind of stuff continues, I’m sorry but I don’t know how many more elections our nation will endure. The two party system is killing our nation, and this is one of the biggest reasons why.

i agree! it seems like things are such a mess!
you know me, i’m trying to imagine how we could do it differently, or at least improve upon the way things have been done for years and years. ah, well.
i saw a bit on fox news with the gore and bush attorneys that argued for them in the supreme court and each current campaign was speaking about how prepared they are to battle it out if necessary… i groaned at the thought of it…
i’ll keep waiting for that magical modern year, you know, when we (as a country) grow up. or something. lol
nice reading your posts ozma.

Grow up?
I don’t think we’ll ever grow up. The sad thing is, we should be the example. I mean we’ve been doing this how many years? We try to say the rest of the world should be like us. But we act like a bunch of 5 year olds. If I were in another country I’m not so sure I’d want to be like here. What’s worse? Dork leaders you don’t get to pick or having to pick between several dorks?
Try to figure out how to do things differently, that’s fine. I’m just sick of the people who are crying for “change” but don’t realize that they are trying in the wrong places.
And God save us from Gore and Bush attorney’s. On the one hand you can’t blame them for what their lawyers say because sometimes they don’t say what their clients want said, but on the other hand they hired the wankers!
Gaaaah… What happened to when people actually cared about REAL issues and not just trying to whine about the other person?
