For a girl who doesn’t really like shopping, I sure seemed to be doing a lot of it today for other people. 🙂 Aside from going surfing for scrapping stuff for one friend for ideas, I went to Best Buy with my mum. My mum wanted to pick up the extended LOTR movie there because it was cheapest. (22 something) The line was LONG for people at Best Buy. Darned holiday shopping! Why are these people not at work? ROFL
So I suddenly found myself playing Shopper for the people around us in line. Oh hey, I forgot this! My mum goes “I have a gopher, you don’t have to lose your place.” The sad thing? I found things real quick for these people because I have the darned store memorized. HAHA
Of course I also educated a guy on the wonders of Ipods. I guess someone put one on their wish list and he was clueless and all the blue shirts were not to be found. Which is probably good since when I was in there last the blue shirt didn’t even know how much they cost let alone anything else.
I think I should be a tech personal shopper. I can try out things, put them through the ringer, and be able to advise people on what to buy, what not to buy, and quickly find items for them. ROFL.
In other interesting things, I went to pay my car insurance and found out my gal there loves historical sites. She’s very interested in my series of historical va. Cool. 🙂 She’s also interested in our family farm which I want to go shoot but I want to shoot it in the spring when the flowers are out. I’m sure my Aunt has kept up with the flowers. I need to get out and see her. I just never seem to have the time running around with mum. I should just ditch mum one day and go visit my Aunt. (With the camera!)
I took a lot of pictures of my gingerbread house and posted them to my moblog. It was gift at the gift exchange and is beautiful beyond belief.
I did find out that my website may not be up this weekend due to some kind of maintenance. I hope that things get worked out quickly. So I’m just going to send pictures to my moblog and worry about updating my site when it goes back up.
I’ve been reading some more out of my photography books. And I took Joram to scouts.
And now? I’m hungry. What on earth can I eat?

LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea – lol!!!
another idea – you could be a ‘girl friday’ I’ve tried implanting this idea in my mother but she ignores me. (cluemom is my girl friday – I swear I’d be lost without her). Girl Friday (aka mom in my case) does things like be there when the cable company needs to show up. Makes my appointment and is there for the semi-annual furnace/ac cleaning/servicing. Has been there when appliances have been delivered, drops off my recycling, and other assorted errands.
Just think – you could charge for this service – set up a web page and market yourself – and yeah – do the personal shopping for electronics that way to boot :))))
oh – and the recycling reminds me – my mother’s church collects aliuminum cans (I buy my soda in cans, mum crushes them and takes them to her church). Money from the cans goes to the Lawernce Habitat for Humanity. So not only are you recycling – but you’re helping a great cause too!

That’s not a bad plan! 🙂 Especially for someone like me who is supposedly free during the day anway!! 🙂 I just liked the idea of tech shopping… especially the testing of products.. ROFL
And OMG the recycling bit? That’s AWESOME!!!!! You know if you take those pop tops off the cans you can donate them to the ronald mcdonald house! *GRINS*

well the best part of the recycling – I don’t actually have to remember to do my recycling – my girl friday comes and takes it all away.
cans to her church.
newspapers to the school in eudora.
plastic bottles (including the big 1 gallon jugs from the distilled water I need for my sinus rinse) and bags to the Lawrence Walmart (they have a big recycling center there)

HEHE best way to recycle in my book! 🙂 My parents recycle. We recycled off and on in the past 10 years. Mostly it depends on if the city we live in has made it easy or not. I could never find where to take stuff in Columbus so we stopped recyclicng there. Not as big a deal since we dont’ drink a lot of canned drinks or read an actual newspaper… (Though my parents do, and bottled drinks as well… so it is good they recycle)

when you see how quickly it stacks up, you feel guilty if you don’t! i was going to be lazy one time and just throw it away. but it took up so much space in the trash bag i couldn’t do it.
sigh……….once you start recycling its hard to go back to the bad ways

I hear ya. It stacks around here like crazy. But there’s six people in this house!! 🙂 Four of us are adults. Paper piles up faster than anything. It’s insane.
