I’m not really ready to write up anything about it. But wow. What a great book. I loved it! Dan Brown is an excellent author. I’m just going to keep this brief.

I loved how there was still the mystery left. At no time did Robert lay his hands on the actual Grail. So we can still hold that dream of finding it. I also loved how this delved into the other aspect of the grail. Something people don’t like to think about, for some reason. The theory that Christ was quite possibly married, in this case to Mary M (who seems the most likely candidate). This is not a new theory. It’s as old as anything.

Many of the things brought out in the book are things I am not unaware of. I’ve long been aware of the theory that Christ was married. The theory does not bother me in any way. Christ, being such a good and perfect man, would be a wonderful husband. And the sappy romantic sop inside of me grins at the idea he had himself a wife…. a companion. And we have been commanded to multiply and replenish the earth. So who knows, perhaps Christ did marry. There’s an aweful lot about his life we do not know. And let’s also face it, there’s a definate downplay of females in the Bible. I’ve also been aware of the attrocities the early Church dealt out, the adapting of many pagan beliefs into Christianity, and the fact that they felt they should translate the Bible the way they wanted it to be read. These are simple matter of history.

I think this book is not only a good read, it’s a fun read, and an excellent read for book clubs! It will definately get you into talking about things! Just keep your mind open to the possibilities!
