Took me all day, but it is done and over with. Yay!!! Before the end of March at that, go me! I got an oil change for my Taurus as well so she’s running real happy right now. If only I could get my kids to clean out the backseat… HA!

Things were well with the car. They said even the engine looked good, which is good since it’s probably way overdue for that oil change! There was a minor glitch that came up that needs to be rectified and soon, but not enough to fail my inspection. The brake pads need to be replaced soon. The guy said within 5-10k miles. It’s got 61.5k right now so I’m thinking… that’s not too bad right? 65k miles for new pads?

Of course new brake pads for the front brakes are almost 300 bucks. OUCH! Which of course made me snicker… these cars we get. We rely on them so much and they are just so expensive. You pay through the nose to get one, then you pay through the nose for anything done to them! Yet we refuse to figure out something better! You’d think at some point, as a race, we’d realize that we are just spending way too much money on these darned cars, right?

At least brakes aren’t TOOOOOO difficult. It seems that in more recent years that cars have just become so technical themselves that it is near impossible to do anything to them without a full setup at the mechanic’s. To get by all the electrical computerized gizmo’s.

Cars used to be bohemith things that were fairly “simple” to work on. These days they are just as high tech as anything else! Makes me think of that joke about if Microsoft made cars… aren’t they just about doing it these days? HA! Let’s pray it is someone besides Microsoft!!

In other news… guess what came out today? Bridget Jones 2! YAY!!!!
